Capcom announced Mega Man: Dual Override at The Game Awards 2025, bringing back the classic hero fans have been waiting for. This is the 12th main installment in the Mega Man series and is scheduled for release in 2027 on consoles and PC.
The new trailer introduces Mega Man emerging from a bright teleportation portal, quickly followed by energetic, classic side-scrolling gameplay enhanced with updated graphics. You can watch it here.
What Is Mega Man: Dual Override?
Mega Man: Dual Override is a new action platformer game made by Capcom. It’s the first major new installment in the Mega Man series since Mega Man 11.
Capcom hasn’t revealed much about the story so far, but the trailer shows a return to the fast-paced, action-packed gameplay the series is known for, with challenging platforming sections and exciting boss battles.
This new game is launching as Capcom gets ready to celebrate Mega Man’s 40th anniversary in 2027. The first Mega Man game came out in 1987, and the series has sold more than 43 million copies around the world since then.

Fan Boss Design Contest Announced
Capcom is letting fans design a new Robot Master boss for the game! They’re holding a contest where the winning design, created by a fan, will be added as a boss created by Dr. Wily. You can find all the details and how to enter on the contest’s official website and in the trailer.
Capcom has collaborated with Mega Man fans before, but this is one of the most direct ways they’ve ever given fans a chance to shape a major new game.
Mega Man 11 Discount And New Languages
To mark the announcement, Mega Man 11 is now on sale digitally! For a limited time, you can get the game for less than $5 USD on:

Capcom announced that Mega Man 11 will soon be available in Brazilian Portuguese and Latin American Spanish. An update with these new language options will be released later tonight.
