Meet Tom Bombadil in This Exclusive Clip From THE RINGS OF POWER Season 2

As a seasoned Lord of the Rings fanatic, steeped in Middle Earth lore since my first read of the trilogy back in the ’70s, I must say, the arrival of Tom Bombadil in The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power is like finding a long-lost friend at the Prancing Pony. The character has always been a beloved enigma, and Rory Kinnear’s portrayal in this exclusive clip from season two, episode four, is nothing short of magical.

Greetings everyone! The moment we’ve all been eagerly waiting for has finally arrived, my fellow “Lord of the Rings” enthusiasts. Yes, you guessed it – the enigmatic character, Tom Bombadil, is making his grand entrance in a major live-action adaptation of J.R.R. Tolkien’s work. In an exclusive clip from “The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power” season two, episode four, our beloved mysterious traveler, The Stranger, finds himself in an unusual predicament, although one that is not entirely alien to fans of Tolkien, especially when a certain character is about to make an appearance. Fortunately for The Stranger, Tom Bombadil seems to be in a helpful (and musical) mood in this scene from “The Rings of Power.”

In the following exclusive clip, you’ll get an opportunity to witness the pair’s encounter, ultimately leading to a firsthand experience with Tom Bombadil from “The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power”

In the second season of “The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power”, character Tom Bombadil is portrayed by Rory Kinnear. While trailers provided brief glimpses of Kinnear as Tom Bombadil, this is our most comprehensive view yet. We must say, he’s nailed it. A soothing voice, yes. Long hair and beard, indeed. The serene aura of an unfazed ancient, you bet!

Of course, we always love a good Tolkien Easter egg, and true-heart fans will delight in how Tom Bombadil’s introduction in The Rings of Power season two echoes his introduction in The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring. There, Frodo meets Tom Bombadil after those scamps, Merry and Pippin, get gobbled up by Old Man Willow, and Bombadil helps to save them. In our exclusive The Rings of Power season two clip, it’s The Stranger who has been consumed by a tree instead, only to have Tom Bombadil come to his rescue. We don’t think it’s Old Man Willow this time, but perhaps a cousin. If The Stranger really is Gandalf, someone ought to remind him later that he has more in common with Merry and Pippin than he thinks!

In our opinion, the melody that welcomes Tom Bombadil when he meets The Stranger in the Goldeberry has a hint of “Concerning Hobbits.” This strengthens our belief in the strong link between these encounters within “The Lord of the Rings” series

As I encountered Tom Bombadil in my gaming world, it was clear that The Stranger was searching for his staff. However, yanking on haphazard tree branches didn’t seem like the most effective approach. Perhaps Tom Bombadil could steer him towards a more promising path. We’ll see as the second season of The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power continues streaming on Prime Video. Currently, the first three episodes are accessible, with fresh ones dropping every Thursday until October 3
