MCU X-Men Casting Chaos: Daniel Day-Lewis, Cranston, Cavill, and More Eyeing Major Roles!

Speculation about potential actors for the X-Men cast in the Marvel Cinematic Universe has surfaced online. Daniel Day-Lewis, Bryan Cranston, Cynthia Erivo, and others are among those rumored to be considered for roles in Kevin Feige’s upcoming mutant era, set after Avengers: Secret Wars.

New whispers align with previous ones suggesting that Feige intends to create distinct versions of the X-Men, potentially casting black actors for the roles of Professor X and Magneto.

Instead, these latest speculations seem to align better with the traditional and comics-inspired portrayals, much like those delivered by Patrick Stewart and Ian McKellen, and James McAvoy and Michael Fassbender.

Magneto rumor

There’s a buzz going around suggesting that Feige and Marvel might be considering actor Daniel Day-Lewis, according to information from another user on X.

It’s hard to imagine Daniel Day-Lewis taking up a role in the Marvel universe, frankly speaking, and it seems unlikely that he would commit to a series of films extending over a decade or more, given his age.

Denzel Washington has also been rumored as Magneto, who has a confirmed part in Black Panther 3.

Professor X rumor

A rumor also offers that Bryan Cranston is up to play Professor Charles Xavier in the X-Men reboot.

Walter White, memorably portrayed as a bald character by Bryan Cranston on “Breaking Bad”, is also known for his almost depiction of Lex Luthor, according to information from several years back.

On several occasions, it’s been indicated that Cranston himself has expressed an interest in portraying the X-Men antagonist, Mr. Sinister.

I’ll also be honest, I can’t see Cranston as Professor X. He’s also 69 years old.

Coleman Domingo has also been said to be high on the list.

Storm rumors

What will be a major character a part of Feige’s new X-Men in the MCU is Storm.

As a film enthusiast, I’ve heard whispers suggesting that the extraordinary Cynthia Erivo might be considered for the role of Storm. Now, while it’s undeniably exciting to imagine her in the part, given her past statements expressing interest, I, personally, can’t help but feel a tad skeptical about this casting choice. After all, I believe that each role should be tailored to an actor’s unique abilities and, in my opinion, there might be other characters better suited for Cynthia’s extraordinary talents. But hey, I’m just one fan with my own perspective!

Additional rumored names for Storm include Kirby Howell-Baptiste and Jodie Turner-Smith.

Cyclops

In my previous explanation, it was mentioned that rumors about the Cyclops character involve Harris Dickinson. However, as per Jeff Sneider’s statement, it seems that Harris Dickinson might not be available for the role due to his prior commitments with the upcoming Beatles project.

It’s rumored that Patrick Schwarzenegger (known for his roles in “White Lotus” and “The Boys: Gen V”) is being considered for a role. Some fans speculate he might play Cyclops, based on an image that appears to be from the set of “Avengers: Doomsday”. However, I suspect this image may have been misleading, as it’s actually from another production.

It’s quite possible that Patrick Schwarzenegger has auditioned for a wide range of roles suitable for him in Hollywood, which makes it not impossible to think he could play Cyclops.

Wolverine

After Deadpool & Wolverine, there have been rumors that Kevin Feige is considering Henry Cavill for the part of Wolverine in the Marvel Cinematic Universe’s adaptation, but these reports now appear to be unconfirmed.

Concurrently, there have been mentions that Feige intends to retain Hugh Jackman for another decade as well.

As a die-hard film enthusiast, let me tell you this: The rumors you’ll hear from the grapevine might seem like a roll call of Hollywood heavyweights. But remember, not every name you hear will make it to the silver screen. So, take each tidbit with a pinch of salt!

What’s next for the X-Men?

It’s been confirmed that the actors from Fox who appeared in Marvel movies, including Patrick Stewart, Ian McKellen, Alan Cumming, Rebecca Romijn, James Marsden, and Channing Tatum reprising his role as Gambit, will be featured in Avengers: Doomsday.

It’s also whispered that director Jake Schreier, known for his love of the X-Men, is being considered for the role.

Michael Lesslie, who recently scripted “The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds & Snakes” featuring Rachel Zegler, is currently working on the screenplay.

X-Men ’97 Season 2 and 3 are also in the works for Disney+. Neve Campbell is voicing Polaris.
