I’m hearing some exciting news for all us Scooby-Doo fans! It looks like they’ve found their Fred for the new Netflix series. Apparently, Maxwell Jenkins is going to be playing the role of the leader of Mystery Inc. in this live-action show being made by Berlanti Productions and Warner Bros. Television. I’m really curious to see how this all turns out!
The report follows news that Mckenna Grace has landed the role of Daphne.
Maxwell Jenkins Said To Be Playing Fred
A recent report by Jeff Sneider indicates that actor Jenkins is joining the cast of the new Scooby-Doo series on Netflix.
Netflix hasn’t made an official statement, but if the latest information is correct, we’re beginning to see who will be part of the new Mystery Inc. team.
Fred will likely be a key character in the story about how the team originally formed and solved their first big mystery.

Best Known For Netflix’s Lost In Space
Jenkins will be familiar to Netflix viewers from Lost in Space, where he played Will Robinson.
He’s matured since his earlier role, making him a much better fit for a live-action Fred now than people might recall from that previous show.
He has also appeared in projects including Reacher, Arcadian, and Joe Bell.

What The Scooby-Doo Series Is About
The untitled Scooby-Doo series tells the origin of Mystery Inc.
As Shaggy and Daphne enjoy their last summer at camp, they stumble into a puzzling mystery: a missing Great Dane puppy who might have seen something unbelievable – a ghostly crime.
The group joins forces with Velma, who’s practical and relies on science, and Freddy, a quirky but attractive newcomer. As they investigate, they’re drawn into a terrifying situation that risks revealing hidden truths about themselves.

The Cast Is Starting To Come Together
Netflix seems to be finalizing the cast for its upcoming series, with McKenna Grace expected to play Daphne and Maxwell Jenkins as Fred. They still haven’t announced who will play Shaggy and Velma.
Josh Appelbaum and Scott Rosenberg created and lead the series as showrunners. Greg Berlanti, Sarah Schechter, and Leigh London Redman are executive producers through Berlanti Productions, and Warner Bros. Television produces the show.
