According to Production Weekly’s latest update, The Batman Part II is set to start filming in March 2026.
Initially, it outlines all the credits and a description, but hold on, the description seems to be about the first “Batman” film, which is actually a mistake. You can find this description online from as early as 2021; it was initially intended as a synopsis for “The Batman,” not the original movie.
The list presented in 2023 by Production Weekly, similar to before, fails to mention Matt Reeves as the director, or any director at all. This indicates that the publication has only revised the release dates.
After experiencing multiple setbacks, news about The Batman Part II spread rapidly across social media platforms and numerous websites, confirming that director Matt Reeves is no longer attached to the project.
I’ll say if that did happen, it’s highly likely The Batman Part II wouldn’t be happening.
On Thursday, Jeff Sneider added his thoughts to _The Hot Mic_, concurring that the trades had earlier implied Alexandra Reeves had been removed from _The Batman 2_ before a subsequent production list suggested otherwise.

What is going on with The Batman: Part II?
At present, it’s confirmed that Matt Reeves continues refining the script for The Batman: Part II, which currently has a scheduled release on October 1, 2027.
