Matt Lucas Apologizes to Stranger Things Star Millie Bobby Brown for Remarks About Her Body; Says, ‘That’s Not My…’

Matt Lucas has recently issued an apology on social media, addressing it to Millie Bobby Brown. This apology was given following comments he made in the past about Brown’s physical appearance.

On Instagram, Lucas shared that he encountered a post from Millie Bobby Brown and felt compelled to offer some background or explanation.

In more straightforward terms, Lucas went on to elaborate that about 25 years ago, he both wrote for and starred in a comedy show called “Little Britain”. He brought up one of its characters, Vicky Pollard, who is known for her blonde hair and pink outfits. Interestingly enough, he noticed a resemblance between this character and the Stranger Things actress, as she was recently seen wearing pink clothing and sporting blonde hair too.

“I pointed out the similarity by posting one of her catchphrases,” Matt Lucas added.

Later on, Lucas clarified, “I genuinely thought you were fantastic, and it embarrassed me when the media misconstrued my comments as ‘criticizing’ you. To begin with, that’s not how I usually express myself, and secondly, I truly believe you’re exceptional.

Additionally, he admitted that if he had been aware of how his post might hurt Millie Bobby Brown, he wouldn’t have shared it. He also expressed regret as it seems to have caused offense to her. In summary, “I apologize for any distress I may have caused, Millie. My sincere apologies. Matt x.

Lucas apologized after Brown posted on social media about the criticism she had faced. In her post, she expressed that while she’s grown over time, it seems those around her haven’t, and she wishes people could accept her evolution, especially since she started looking much younger during the first season of Stranger Things compared to now.

In my role as a lifestyle expert, I’d say: “As the premiere of my new film, The Electric State, took center stage, I found myself at the heart of various intriguing headlines. Here’s a glimpse into the spotlight.

As a die-hard fan, I’d express it like this: “I’m not seeing journalism here; instead, it feels like intimidation.” The lovely lady from ‘Enola Holmes’ shared that sentiment in an Instagram post.

The Electric State will be released on March 7, 2025, on Netflix.
