As I delved into the game footage, I found Lutz’s armor striking, reminiscent of later comic book iterations of Red Sonja. Her distinctive face paint was a dead giveaway too. Unfortunately, the skimpy chain-mail bikini that characterized earlier depictions seemed to be absent this time around. (No worries!)

Over time, the production of the second ‘Red Sonja’ movie has gone through multiple alterations. It initially kicked off in 2008 under Robert Rodriguez’s direction, but that plan ultimately fell through. Later on, efforts to bring the film back to life included involvement from directors and producers like Simon West, Bryan Singer, and Joey Soloway.

Following numerous postponements and alterations, production on the movie finally kicked off in 2022. Matilda Lutz secured the role of Red Sonja, while M.J. Bassett stepped up as the new director. The shooting locations were Bulgaria and Greece.

As a gaming enthusiast, I’m excited to share that Lutz hinted at a fresh take on the ‘Red Sonja’ movie, diverging from the original comic storyline. In the star-studded cast, you’ll find Wallis Day, Robert Sheehan, Michael Bisping, Martyn Ford, and Eliza Matengu stepping into their respective pivotal roles.

In this production, Veronica Ferres portrays Ashera, Red Sonja’s mother. Additionally, Katrina Durden, Manal El-Feitury, Rhona Mitra, Kate Nichols, and Danica Davis are among the cast members, though their specific roles have not been disclosed yet.
