Mass Effect Update Confirms New Game and TV Show Are Moving Forward

BioWare celebrated N7 Day 2025 by sharing news about the future of Mass Effect. They clarified recent rumors and gave official updates on both the next Mass Effect game and the upcoming TV series on Amazon.

Mike Gamble, the executive producer, announced on the studio blog that work on the next Mass Effect game is currently underway and the development team is completely dedicated to it.

Next Mass Effect Game Is in Full Development

According to Gamble, BioWare is completely focused on developing the next Mass Effect game. He explained that the team has a significant amount of work ahead of them, including creating new features, developing character relationships, and expanding the game’s world.

Addressing recent rumors, Gamble confirmed that EA and BioWare are still dedicated to the game series. He didn’t share any specifics or show gameplay, but assured fans that the eventual reveal will be worth the anticipation.

The upcoming game will continue the story from the first three games and feature familiar faces, including Liara T’Soni, who appeared in earlier trailers. A release date hasn’t been announced yet.

TV Series Will Tell a New Story After the Original Trilogy

Gamble also shared updates on the new Mass Effect series being made for Amazon. He confirmed that the writing team is currently working on the show, and it will tell an original story taking place after the events of the original three games – it won’t simply be a remake of Commander Shepard’s adventures.

The new series is being carefully created to fit seamlessly into the established Dragon Age story and will tie into events from all the games, including the next one being released. According to Gamble, BioWare and Amazon are collaborating closely to ensure everything stays consistent with the overall franchise.
