Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy Character Groot to Get a Spinoff Series? Vin Diesel Spills the Beans on the Possibility

Vin Diesel hinted at a possible comeback of his Guardians of the Galaxy character, Groot, in a spinoff movie set for release in 2025. During a discussion about his future projects, he mentioned there might be a chance that he would voice the Marvel character once more.

In simpler terms, it was disclosed that the woodland-esque character from the Marvel Cinematic Universe could potentially star in its own movie, which may be released online.

On his Instagram, Diesel hinted that Disney is eyeing “Planet X,” a highly-anticipated Marvel movie featuring the return of Groot, sparking excitement among fans about Groot potentially receiving his own narrative arc.

As a dedicated fan, I’m proud to share that in 2014, 2017, 2018, and 2019, the character I voiced could be seen in Guardians of the Galaxy, its sequel, Avengers: Infinity War, and Avengers: Endgame – all on the silver screen. The star lending his voice to this character is none other than Vin Diesel, known for his deep, commanding tone.

Diesel also returned for a cameo in Disney’s Ralph Breaks the Internet.

Groot made an appearance in the Marvel Universe again in 2022’s Thor: Love and Thunder.

At the same time, Vin went back to working on the Disney-Marvel project, titled “I Am Groot”, a series resembling the Guardians of the Galaxy’s holiday special.

Furthermore, it’s been disclosed that the actor has a busy schedule for the next few months in 2025, with numerous projects lined up. These include Fast X: Part 2, upcoming installments of XXX, Riddick, and The Last Witch Hunter series, as well as the movie version of Rock’em Sock’em, based on a Mattel toy.
