As a hardcore Marvel fan with over two decades of comic book history under my belt, I can’t help but feel a mix of anticipation and curiosity about the upcoming lineup for 2024 and 2025. The announcement of new TV shows featuring Ironheart, Wonder Man, and the return of Daredevil has me buzzing with excitement!
Marvel Studios has unveiled a slate of upcoming TV productions in 2024 and 2025, featuring both animated and live-action content. Fans can look forward to encountering fresh characters such as Ironheart and Wonder Man, while long-time favorites like Daredevil will make their official entry into the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU).
It’s intriguing to consider how these television series might tie into the significant films slated for release in 2026 and 2027, specifically “Avengers: Doomsday” and “Secret Wars”.
This is one of several questions Alex Perez recently answered in his AMA.
Perez shared that the forthcoming Marvel projects are crucial for establishing the major Avengers movies on the horizon. Significant films and series, such as “Captain America: New World Order”, “Thunderbolts”, “Fantastic Four”, “Blade”, “Wonder Man”, and “Ironheart”, will either introduce or further develop key characters who will significantly contribute to these upcoming Avengers productions.
Additionally, he hinted that Season 3 of “What If…?” might introduce significant multiverse elements and potentially include characters such as Uatu, Captain Carter, and Kahhori. However, most other Marvel productions slated for 2024 will have distinct plotlines and won’t necessarily intertwine with the multiverse narrative directly.
The lineup for Marvel’s upcoming films in the next year presents several intriguing aspects, contributing to the framework for future Avengers movies. Key projects like “Captain America: Brave New World, Thunderbolts*, Fantastic Four, Blade, Wonder Man” and “Ironheart ” are instrumental in establishing the positions of the key characters set to appear in “Avengers: Doomsday.“.
It’s been mentioned that season 3 of “What If…?” could have significant setups related to the Avengers films, potentially featuring characters such as Uatu, Captain Carter, and Kahhori. Meanwhile, the rest of the upcoming stories appear to be standalone and may not hold much relevance to the larger multiverse storyline at this point.
2024 witnessed significant reductions in the Marvel Cinematic Universe’s schedule, with a substantial part being attributed to the disappointing box office performance of “The Marvels” and primarily due to the SAG-AFTRA strike, causing numerous delays in production.
Nonetheless, changes are anticipated by 2025. Though Feige and Winderbaum have indicated a decrease in upcoming releases, there’s still much to look forward to.
