Marvel consistently invests heavily in marketing, so it usually uses the Super Bowl to promote its major films. With two big Marvel movies – Spider-Man: Brand New Day and Avengers: Doomsday – scheduled for 2026, many expected commercials for both during this year’s Super Bowl. However, recent reports indicate neither film will be advertised during the game. Despite this, Disney likely won’t skip the Super Bowl entirely and may still advertise other content.
According to Deadline’s Anthony D’Alessandro, Marvel Studios won’t be advertising either Spider-Man: Brand New Day or Avengers: Doomsday during the Super Bowl. While both films – with Spider-Man returning July 31st and a new Avengers villain debuting December 18th – seemed likely candidates for a costly Super Bowl ad, it’s not entirely unexpected. Marvel may feel one trailer for Spider-Man and the new Avengers film is enough to generate excitement. They might also release the first trailers later in the year when there’s less competition for attention from other studios.
According to Deadline, Disney is still considering using the Super Bowl’s massive audience to promote its upcoming films. We might get a first look at trailers for Pixar’s Hoppers (releasing March 6) and Toy Story 5 (June 16). Plus, something from the Star Wars universe could also appear. The Mandalorian and Grogu movie is set to hit theaters on May 22, during Memorial Day weekend, and a compelling trailer during the Super Bowl could really boost excitement for it.

Will we see a Star Wars trailer during the Super Bowl? It’s uncertain. Also, does anyone know if Grogu is a sports fan?
