As a die-hard Marvel fan who has been following the saga since the early days of Iron Man, I must say that the latest news about the Vision series has me utterly thrilled! The addition of Todd Stashwick to the cast, a man I’ve grown fond of from his role in Star Trek: Picard and 12 Monkeys, is just the cherry on top of an already tantalizing lineup.
The Marvel Studios series featuring Paul Bettany as the synthetic hero, Vision, is further developing its storyline. Previously, Marvel recruited Terry Matalas, from ‘Star Trek: Picard’ season 3, to direct the series, which was then titled “Vision Quest.” As per ‘The Hollywood Reporter’, Matalas has recently added Todd Stashwick to the cast for this upcoming series. Stashwick was a key character in ‘Picard’ season three as Captain Liam Shaw of the ‘Titan’. In this new Marvel show, Stashwick will portray an assassin who is pursuing Vision and the advanced technology he holds.
Todd Stashwick and Terry Matalas share a long professional history, having collaborated on the Syfy Channel’s show, “12 Monkeys.” Recently, Stashwick joined the cast of the upcoming series centered around Vision, making him the second new addition to the team. This follows Marvel’s announcement that James Spader would reprise his role as Ultron, who is referred to as Vision’s “father.” It remains unclear if Stashwick will play a previously established assassin character or if he will portray a new one created specifically for the series. There are several Marvel Comics assassins yet to appear in the MCU, such as Paladin and Fantomex from the X-Men.
As a die-hard gamer, I’m excitedly looking forward to the next chapter in the Disney+ saga – the third installment of what feels like an epic superhero trilogy! The first act was WandaVision, followed by Agatha All Along, and now we’re left wondering if the Scarlet Witch and Vision will finally be reunited. Could it be that their super-powered children, Wiccan and Speed, will join them in battle? Here’s hoping that the Maximoff clan unites just in time for the Avengers: Doomsday and Secret Wars! Filming for The Vision series kicks off in the U.K. early next year (2025), with a likely release date in 2026. Can’t wait to see how this story unfolds!
