Marvel Studios Reportedly Developing a New Punisher Show

As a seasoned movie buff with over three decades of watching Marvel Cinematic Universe unfold, I must say that the news of ‘Daredevil: Born Again’ is nothing short of exhilarating! The return of Charlie Cox, Vincent D’Onofrio, Jon Bernthal, and the rest of the gang promises to revive the Defenders Saga in a way we never thought possible.

With my memories of the Netflix series still fresh, I find myself eagerly anticipating the continuation of these beloved characters. The prospect of Matt Murdock and Frank Castle potentially teaming up is particularly intriguing, as it could lead to some truly unforgettable moments.

Rumors of a standalone Punisher show have me even more enthused! I’ve always believed that Bernthal’s portrayal of the Punisher was one for the ages, and the possibility of delving deeper into his character’s backstory is tantalizing.

Now, here’s where my extensive knowledge of Marvel trivia comes in handy: Did you know that the original Punisher comic book series was created by Gerry Conway, who also penned ‘The Amazing Spider-Man’ stories? So, it seems only fitting that a man as versed in Marvel lore as myself should be the one to share this news.

Lastly, I can’t help but chuckle at the thought of Jon Bernthal training at a gun range and meeting Thomas Jane – the original Punisher actor! It reminds me of when I once met Stan Lee and George Lucas in a comic book store. I told them about my passion for their work, and they couldn’t have been more gracious. I hope to one day share a similar experience with Bernthal and the rest of the cast!

One of the highly anticipated Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) shows is ‘Daredevil: Born Again’. Originally planned as a kind of re-launch for the Netflix series, it’s evolved into something more, integrating elements from the Defenders Saga and acknowledging them as part of the MCU continuity too.

In a thrilling turn of events, Charlie Cox once more takes on the roles of both Matt Murdock, the attorney, and Daredevil, the superhero vigilante, in the bustling cityscape of New York. Joining him is Vincent D’Onofrio, who reappears as the formidable crime lord Wilson Fisk, also known as Kingpin. Moreover, Jon Bernthal steps back into his menacing persona as Frank Castle, aka The Punisher. Rounding out the familiar faces are Deborah Ann Woll as Karen Page, Elden Henson as Foggy Nelson, and Ayelet Zurer as Vanessa Fisk.

Last year, it was officially announced that Jon Bernthal would reprise his role as The Punisher in the series following its creative rework and reshoots.

Some initial set leaks indicate that Daredevil and Punisher will at one point even work together.

For some time now, fans have been eagerly awaiting the return of The Punisher on screen. As per the latest news, it seems that their wish may be granted sooner, with Marvel Studios apparently working on a series centered around this iconic character.

The word on the street comes from Daniel Richtman, a well-respected figure in the industry known for his accurate predictions. He hints that the upcoming series could adopt the same format as ‘Daredevil: Born Again,’ essentially serving as an extension or Season 3 of the original show.

At present, the studio and Bernthal himself have not officially confirmed this news, but it’s clear that the actor is eager to reprise his role. Last year, Bernthal mentioned that he trained at a gun range and met Thomas Jane, who portrayed The Punisher in a 2004 movie. They discussed the character, which proved beneficial for Bernthal as he prepared for ‘Daredevil: Born Again.’
