Fans of Marvel Rivals have been requesting a single-player or cooperative mode, and NetEase Games is delivering! The game’s first PvE experience, called Zombie Mode, will launch on October 23, 2025, for PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S.
Players will be able to control Thor, Blade, Magik, Jeff, and The Punisher in this new mode. They’ll fight off waves of zombies and then face off against two challenging bosses: Zombie Namor and The Queen of the Dead. It’s a basic setup, but it’s a good starting point.
Each playable character will have special abilities, making them feel distinct from how they play in the main player-versus-player modes.
It’s currently unknown if this new mode will only be available for a limited time, perhaps tied to the release of the Marvel Zombies show on Disney+ and the Halloween season, or if it will become a regular part of the game.
Marvel Rivals players who are excited about playing with others against the environment (PvE) will get a chance to do so next week. Hopefully, this initial test will lead to more similar experiences in the future.
