The new movie, The Fantastic Four: First Steps, features a talented cast including Pedro Pascal as Mister Fantastic, Vanessa Kirby as Invisible Woman, Joseph Quinn as the Human Torch, and Ebon Moss-Bachrach as The Thing. The team is also joined by H.E.R.B.I.E., their robotic assistant. Ralph Ineson plays Galactus and Julia Garner is the Silver Surfer. While it was outperformed at the box office this summer by James Gunn’s Superman, The Fantastic Four: First Steps still earned an impressive $274 million in the US – more than any previous Fantastic Four movie, even when accounting for inflation. It was Marvel Studios’ most successful original film since Avengers: Endgame.
The Fantastic Four cast will return next year as members of the Avengers: Doomsday team. For those disappointed that Reed Richards and Doctor Doom didn’t battle in First Steps, we expect that rivalry to happen in 2026. After that, we hope Marvel Studios officially announces a sequel for the Fantastic Four, possibly after the Secret Wars movie. We’re really hoping to see the FF fight Annihilus! But you can start watching the team save Earth-828 starting November 5th.
