Spoilers ahead for Thunderbolts*
Marvel’s most recent film debuted in cinemas on May 1st, swiftly captivating fans’ affection. Following a favorable critique, the Studio promptly revealed a fresh poster, proclaiming the motley crew as the “New Avengers.
In Los Angeles, as well as on ticket-selling platforms such as Fandango, a modification was made to the billboard title. This adjustment also puzzled fans, who were curious about the meaning behind the asterisk symbol in the title. However, the explanation for this asterisk was provided later in the movie.
In the movie, Julia Louis-Dreyfus’ character Valentina Allegra de Fontaine refers to the Thunderbolts as “The New Avengers.” However, the asterisk in the title suggests that this is not their actual name, but a temporary or misleading one.
The newly formed group consists of Yelena Belova (portrayed by Florence Pugh), Bucky Barnes (played by Sebastian Stan), the Red Guardian (David Harbour), John Walker (Wyatt Russell), Ghost (Hannah John-Kamen) and Sentry (Lewis Pullman).
In a heart-pounding twist at the end of the movie’s credits, it was unveiled that the fresh squad has moved into the legendary Avengers’ base, now known as the Watchtower. It feels like comic book worlds are merging in the Marvel Cinematic Universe!
At the end of Anthony Mackie’s Captain America movie titled “Brave New World,” he embarks on a mission to gather the original Avengers back together. The upcoming film, “Avengers: Doomsday,” planned for release next year, will bring both the old and new members of the Avengers team together.
In the eagerly awaited Avengers film, the new Marvel’s Fantastic Four team – Pedro Pascal, Joseph Quinn, Vanessa Kirby, and Ebon Moss-Bachrach – are set to collaborate with their colleagues.
In a thrilling return to the Marvel universe, Robert Downey Jr., who played Iron Man for many years until the character’s demise, will assume the role of the formidable villain, Doctor Doom. A teaser from the post-credit scene in Thunderbolts* offers a tantalizing glimpse into what lies ahead.
*Note: The original text mentions “Thunderbolts” without an asterisk, but it is not clear if this is a specific movie or TV series. For clarity, I’ve added an asterisk to indicate that the title might be fictional or unclear.
In the scene, the spaceship belonging to the Fantastic Four arrived at Earth’s orbit from another realm, accompanied by its theme tune. The film is set to premiere in cinemas on July 25, 2025.
