Marvel Studios has released the first teaser trailer for Avengers: Doomsday, officially revealing that the X-Men from the Fox movies will be joining the Marvel Cinematic Universe, as fans have long expected.
This trailer is the third in a series of character spotlights leading up to the release of Avatar: Fire and Ash, after previous trailers featuring Steve Rogers and Thor. You can watch it below.

Professor X and Magneto Return
The trailer features a scene of Patrick Stewart, playing Professor X, and Ian McKellen as Magneto facing off in a chess match amidst the ruins of the Xavier’s School for Gifted Youngsters.
The mansion clearly shows its age and is in disrepair, hinting at a troubled history or the consequences of something that happened there.
Cyclops Suits Up
James Marsden returns as Cyclops, using his optic blast in a new suit that seems inspired by the classic X-Men animated series, creating a connection between the previous Fox films and the iconic animation.
This teaser shows the character fighting in a blazing environment, offering a more dynamic and exciting scene than what we’ve seen so far.
Trailer Ends With Return Tease
The teaser closes with a confirmation text card: “The X-Men will return in Avengers: Doomsday.”
This line emphasizes the X-Men’s important role in the upcoming multiversal team-up, and suggests we’ll see more mutant-centered stories after the Doomsday event.
Alan Cumming, Rebecca Romijn, Kelsey Grammer, and Channing Tatum will reprise their roles from the X-Men movies in the upcoming Deadpool & Wolverine film.

Avengers: Doomsday is scheduled to hit theaters on December 18, 2026.
The movie’s cast features a star-studded lineup including Chris Evans, Chris Hemsworth, Anthony Mackie, Sebastian Stan, Paul Rudd, Letitia Wright, Florence Pugh, Simu Liu, Tom Hiddleston, and many more, with Robert Downey Jr. also joining the team. In addition to these confirmed actors, rumors suggest another 33 actors may also appear.
