Building upon Jonathan Hickman’s Marvel Cosmic saga, “Imperial,” unveiled at Comic-Con, encompasses a fresh installment of the “Nova” series – the initial one since Dan Abnett’s outstanding tenure from 2007.
That’s not all as She-Hulk also gets a new ongoing, which is a take on Planet Hulk (of course).
I’ll put it this way: I checked out the initial edition of ‘Imperial’, and found it to be alright, nothing exceptional. To be honest, I’m not a die-hard Hickman fan. Nevertheless, it showed potential and surpassed anything that came after the termination of ‘Nova’ in 2007 and ‘Guardians of the Galaxy’ in 2008, which have been lacking for the past fifteen years.
I’m intrigued yet quite reserved in my optimism. Moreover, it seems to me that these could be trial runs for future Marvel Cinematic Universe characters (a slight eye-roll). Therefore, it’s plausible that Nova has a fresh series. Similarly, Frank Castle’s reappearance as The Punisher in the comics may also hint at this pattern.
I suppose they can’t do any worse than the She-Hulk Disney+ series.

Planet She-Hulk #1

It appears that Jennifer Walters, also known as She-Hulk, has found herself stranded on the planet Sakaar. After promising to look after Sakaar and its inhabitants at her cousin Hulk’s request, she’s been stuck there for more days than initially agreed upon. Now, with the planet at war, it falls upon She-Hulk to maintain peace and order. While she may not be like the Hulk who once subdued Sakaar, we can wonder if her unique abilities will prove adequate for this challenging task.
Phillips expressed his immense enthusiasm, stating, “Working with Aaron is simply thrilling! It’s absolutely fantastic. For ‘Planet She-Hulk,’ imagine something on the scale of Game of Thrones. Expect elements that may not be directly related to She-Hulk. She finds herself in a strange world and must adapt her own sensibilities when dealing with witches, rebels, and cannibals… it’s going to be spectacular! We aimed for grandeur. After all, she wields a giant sword, so let us make full use of it!
