As a die-hard Moon Knight fan who’s been through more Egyptian tombs than Indiana Jones himself, I couldn’t be more thrilled about the news! After two long years of waiting, Marc Spector is finally making a comeback, this time in the animated realm of ‘What If…?’
Moon Knight, who first appeared in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) two years ago through his own solo series, has swiftly gained popularity among fans. Although Phase 4 introduced numerous tales with unresolved endings, Moon Knight is one of several characters whose presence within the MCU hasn’t been hinted at or revisited elsewhere yet.
In contrast, the landscape of Marvel Animation is poised for a shift. At the D23 Marvel Animation conference, it was officially announced that Moon Knight will make a comeback for the concluding chapter of ‘What If…?”s third season.
As a long-time fan of Marvel comics and movies, I am beyond excited about the upcoming season 3 of ‘What If…?’ The trailers have revealed some truly mind-blowing moments that promise to take the series to new heights. From seeing Mega Hulk and Shang-Chi in a western setting, to watching Wong donning new armor, it’s clear that this season will be filled with unexpected twists and turns.
Although it’s yet to be officially announced if Oscar Isaac will voice Moon Knight again, it seems plausible considering how many actors reprise their roles for animated series. Apart from his confirmed role in ‘What If…? Season 3’, there are whispers about Moon Knight possibly being part of the as-yet undisclosed ‘Midnight Sons’ project, which is said to be under development. Furthermore, there were rumors suggesting Moon Knight might appear in the upcoming ‘Marvel Zombies’ series, but this hasn’t been confirmed as he was absent from the exclusive footage shown so far.
