Marvel Comics Launches DEADPOOL/WOLVERINE Ongoing Series in January

As a die-hard comic book enthusiast with over three decades of reading under my belt, I can confidently say that the upcoming “Deadpool/Wolverine” series is a dream come true! Ever since their first encounter back in the ’90s, these two iconic characters have been a dynamic duo that’s hard to beat.

This year, Deadpool and Wolverine dominated the box office with their movie, so it’s clear that Marvel is planning an ongoing series for this lethal pair. Writers Benjamin Percy and artist Joshua Cassara, who previously worked together on X-Force, will reunite in January for the new series titled Deadpool/Wolverine. This ongoing series promises to reveal hidden secrets, unexpected turns, and a sinister plot that will leave both old and new X-Men readers astonished. This follows Marvel’s “event story” from last summer. Now, we can get a sneak peek at the interior pages of Deadpool/Wolverine as provided by Marvel Comics, which you can see in our gallery below.

Here’s the official description of Deadpool/Wolverine from Marvel Comics:

In an unexpected yet eagerly awaited collaboration, Deadpool and Wolverine reunite for a thrilling series that never stops delivering action-packed excitement, as they strive to save the world from impending doom! When a popular villain resurfaces, readers will witness a fresh perspective of our protagonists and their foe, as a centuries-old scheme reaches its climax. The only force capable of averting global destruction is the Best There Is and the Mouth With the Merciful Bullet.

Since Deadpool made his debut in comic books back in the early ’90s, Logan and Wade have had a rich and lengthy history together. In the cinematic world, it’s worth mentioning that Ryan Reynolds’ portrayal of Deadpool initially emerged in X-Men Origins: Wolverine, which was released about seven years prior to his standalone movie debut (although we might prefer to forget that film, history cannot be denied!). Over the decades, they have collaborated in numerous comic book mini-series. Fans have been eagerly waiting for a while now, but it seems that Marvel Comics is finally ready to give this duo of enduring friends-turned-rivals an ongoing series. The first issue of Deadpool/Wolverine hits the stands in January 2025.
