Marvel Announces Punisher Special Release Date And Title

Marvel has revealed when and under what title Jon Bernthal will return as the Punisher in a new special.

I’m really excited about this new special! It’s called A Marvel Television Special Presentation: The Punisher: One Last Kill, and I’ve heard it’s going to start streaming on Disney+ on May 12, 2026. It’s exclusive to Disney+, so that’s where you’ll have to be to watch it!

This news arrives after Marvel revealed plans for a second season of Wonder Man and just before the Daredevil: Born Again Season 2 premiere on Wednesday. It’s part of a recent wave of updates coming from Marvel Television for Disney+.

Marvel Reveals Punisher: One Last Kill

Marvel officially announced the news on Marvel.com, along with the first look at a teaser poster. Jon Bernthal also shared the poster and release date on his Instagram account.

Marvel’s brief description keeps things simple and direct: “Welcome back, Frank.”

This signals Jon Bernthal’s comeback as the Punisher, Frank Castle, in a new Marvel series that appears to be gritty and realistic, fitting with the style of shows currently being released on Disney+.

Returns As Frank Castle

Many fans consider Jon Bernthal the best live-action version of the Punisher, making his return a significant boost for Marvel’s more gritty and realistic stories.

The title, One Last Kill, suggests Marvel is embracing the character’s violent side rather than making him more family-friendly for Disney+.

Fans will likely be most interested in seeing how this new direction plays out as more information becomes available. The initial poster hints that Marvel is aiming for a darker, more realistic tone, with the Punisher, Frank Castle, taking a central role.

Bernthal is also slated to return as The Punisher in Spider-Man: Brand New Day, out July 31st.
