Mark Wahlberg Reveals He Was Huge Fan Of Halle Berry Before Teaming Up With Her On The Union: ‘We’ve Been Friendly…’

As a fanatic admirer of both Mark Wahlberg and Halle Berry, I couldn’t help but feel exhilarated when I learned that these two iconic actors had finally shared the screen in “The Union.” Having been friends for years, their camaraderie was evident even before they started filming this thrilling action-comedy.

As a dedicated admirer of Halle Berry, I found myself thrilled to be teaming up with her in our latest spy action comedy-thriller film, The Union. Although this is our first on-screen collaboration, I’m pleased to say that we’ve been friends for quite some time. It was truly a pleasure to work alongside her on such an exciting project.

In a recent interview with Entertainment Tonight, Mark Wahlberg and his co-star Halle Berry opened up about their experience working on their latest Netflix action-comedy, The Union. The Deepwater Horizon actor told the outlet that the best part of making the movie was that “It was so easy,” before admitting that he was a “big fan” of the Moonfall actress for a long time. He added, “We’ve been friendly for a long time, but we haven’t had a chance to work together.”

In the film, Mark Wahlberg plays Mike McKenna, a construction worker from New Jersey who underperforms, and his high school sweetheart Roxanne (played by Halle Berry) reenters his life. She enlists him for a perilous intelligence operation in Europe, which reunites them in a realm of spies, thrilling car chases, and romantic sparks.

In simpler terms, the actor from Entourage discussed his character, revealing that Mike is a man who will go to great lengths to win over the most significant woman in his world. He hinted playfully that even after 25 years, Mike remains at home and frequents familiar places, hoping one day for Roxanne to reappear.

He pondered on the bond between his characters, noting that Mike had often wished for another chance to reunite with her character. Remarkably, even though he formed other relationships while they were apart, “it’s only her [Berry] character who could make a significant impact, and she did just that.”

In the film’s preparation, Mark Wahlberg revealed he maintained his regular 4 a.m. workout regimen, contrasting Halle Berry who opted for a distinct schedule, resulting in them training individually. Berry acknowledged that Wahlberg is quite rigorous at the gym, mentioning that his early bedtime habit was something she hadn’t been aware of before.

Currently, Julian Farino’s film “The Union” is available for streaming on Netflix. The star-studded cast includes Halle Berry, Mark Wahlberg, Mike Colter, Jackie Earle Haley, Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje, J. K. Simmons, Alice Lee, Jessica De Gouw, James McMenamin, and Lorraine Bracco.
