Mark Ruffalo’s Hulk Returns for SPIDER-MAN: BRAND NEW DAY, Michael Mando Also Joins

In the upcoming movie, Spider-Man: Fresh Start, many people seem eager to socialize with Peter Parker, despite not being able to recall many faces. Joining Jon Bernthal’s Punisher in this film will be Mark Ruffalo reprising his role as the Hulk next summer, adding some muscle to our friendly neighborhood superhero. However, another newcomer to the cast is expected to cause headaches for Spidey. Michael Mando, known from Better Call Saul, is making a comeback in the Marvel Cinematic Universe as Scorpion. This will be his second appearance since he made a brief cameo during the end credits of Spider-Man: Homecoming in 2017. Here’s what we currently know about Hulk and Scorpion’s escapades in Spider-Man: Fresh Start.

The Hulk is set to make an appearance in the upcoming Spider-Man movie titled “Brand New Day,” as reported by The Hollywood Reporter. This news might not be shocking given that a well-known Avenger will be featured in a Spider-Man film. However, some fans may have thought they’d never see Michael Mando’s Scorpion character again in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU). His initial and only appearance as Mac Gargan was during an intriguing post-credits scene in Tom Holland’s debut as Peter Parker in “Spider-Man: Homecoming.” The conversation between him and Michael Keaton’s Vulture during this scene, along with several other MCU post-credits scenes, appeared to be on the verge of being forgotten. But now, it seems that we will finally get a payoff from this scene, something only diehard MCU fans (like us) were eagerly waiting for.

The specifics about “Spider-Man: Brand New Day”‘s plot are still under wraps, so it’s unclear how much screen time Mando’s Scorpion and Ruffalo’s Hulk will have in the film. However, we fervently hope that Scorpion gets more than just a brief appearance. Fans of “Better Call Saul” are well aware of the 44-year-old actor’s talents, and while we enjoy watching Spider-Man team up with other heroes, his rogues offer significantly more excitement.

Even if his adversaries in Earth-616 aren’t aware of his true identity, they instinctively dislike him – that’s all we require for an exceptional Spider-Man film. The Hulk, Spider-Man, and Scorpion will all make their appearances when the movie Spider-Man: A Fresh Start premieres on July 31, 2026.
