Margot Robbie is known for her glamorous style now, but she recently shared stories about her more carefree past. On the February 10th episode of the Table Manners podcast, the thirty-five-year-old actress reminisced about her days living in Clapham, South London. Before becoming a famous actress and producer, Robbie lived in a shared four-bedroom flat with six roommates – a lifestyle she playfully described as being like a mischievous student.
During an interview, the actress known for her role in Wuthering Heights revealed she and her friends often had trouble with nightclub security. She recounted a funny story about being thrown out of Infernos, a famous London club known for its messy floors and relaxed atmosphere. Robbie said she actually yelled at the bouncers that you can’t get kicked out of Infernos while they were dragging her away, but a security guard pointed out her friend had finally gone too far. She didn’t say exactly what happened, but admitted they ended up being banned from several clubs in South London.
The actress fondly remembered her bachelorette party, which had a Harry Potter theme and included a stripper dressed as the wizard. She described the performance as hilarious rather than seductive, complete with robes, glasses, and playful magical references.
Even after becoming a major star, Robbie still looks back fondly on her more carefree days. She even admitted to once inviting the owners of her local convenience store to a movie premiere because they didn’t believe she was famous.
Robbie Williams still loves to have fun, as shown by her recent appearance on Heart Radio. She joined host Amanda Holden to do a “shoey”—a popular Australian tradition where you drink beer from a shoe.
Robbie pointed out they were using fancy glass bottles shaped like shoes, not old sneakers, but she didn’t hesitate to drink up! It was a fun and down-to-earth moment that reminded everyone why fans and colleagues alike adore her.
Margot Robbie is having a very full life right now, balancing new motherhood with a thriving career. She and her husband, Tom Ackerley, welcomed their first child, a son, late last year. Despite the challenges of being a new parent, Robbie continues to be a major player in Hollywood through her production company, LuckyChap Entertainment. Her newest film, a fresh take on Wuthering Heights where she plays Catherine Earnshaw, premiered in Los Angeles on January 28th and will be released in theaters nationwide on February 13th.
The movie, featuring Jacob Elordi as Heathcliff, is already getting a lot of attention for its passionate and sensual portrayal of the classic story. Later in the year, Margot Robbie will also star alongside Colin Farrell in the romantic fantasy film, A Big Bold Beautiful Journey.
Beyond acting, Robbie is producing several major films, including live-action adaptations of The Sims and Monopoly, as she continues to focus on bringing original stories with strong female leads to the cinema.
