Margot Robbie and Jacob Elordi Cast in Upcoming WUTHERING HEIGHTS Adaptation

As a dedicated movie enthusiast with a knack for recognizing promising on-screen pairings, I can hardly contain my excitement about Margot Robbie and Jacob Elordi starring in Emerald Fennell’s upcoming adaptation of Wuthering Heights! Their chemistry in Saltburn and the recent successes they’ve had in projects like Barbie and Euphoria have me confident that this film will be a captivating retelling of Emily Brontë’s classic tale.

It’s reported by The Hollywood Reporter that Margot Robbie and Jacob Elordi are set to feature in Emerald Fennell’s forthcoming movie based on Emily Brontë’s novel Wuthering Heights. This film is an adaptation of the book with the same title. At present, it’s still in pre-production stage and will begin filming in the UK next year. Robbie will portray Catherine Earnshaw, the novel’s primary female character, while Elordi will take on the role of Heathcliff, the adopted son of the Earnshaws.

MRC, LuckyChap Entertainment, and Emerald Fennell are collaborating on the film’s production, with Fennell also contributing to its screenplay. Notably, LuckyChap Entertainment was established by Margot Robbie, Tom Ackerley, and Josey McNamara. Their company has previously produced films such as “I, Tonya” and “Barbie,” both of which have received Academy Awards and featured Margot Robbie in the lead roles.

In July, Fennell revealed plans for a Wuthering Heights adaptation via a social media post. This upcoming adaptation will mark Fennell’s third collaboration with LuckyChap Entertainment, following her direction of Promising Young Woman and last year’s Saltburn. Elordi was a significant player in Saltburn, Fennel’s viral production. Elordi, known for his roles as Nate Jacobs in Euphoria and as Elvis Presley in Priscilla directed by Sofia Coppola, is also set to appear in Guillermo del Toro’s current Frankenstein filming.

Robbie, an actress and producer, gained significant recognition for her lead roles in the blockbuster movie “Barbie” from last summer, which topped the box office charts in 2023. Notably, “Barbie” was the highest-grossing film of that year. Furthermore, she was nominated for an Academy Award for Best Actress for “I, Tonya.” Coming soon is her appearance in Kogonada’s film titled “A Big Bold Beautiful Journey,” set to release in May 2025.

Over the years, different filmmakers have taken Emily Brontë’s novel ‘Wuthering Heights’ and brought it to life on screen in numerous languages. One of the most notable adaptations is the 1939 version, which was even nominated for the Best Picture Oscar by the Academy. The latest cinematic interpretation, featuring Kaya Scodelario, came out in 2011.
