After almost 20 years, Malcolm is returning to television. Hulu has just released the first trailer for the revival of the popular early 2000s sitcom, now titled “Malcolm in the Middle: Life’s Still Unfair,” which will begin streaming on April 10th.
The upcoming four-episode series centers on Malcolm, now an adult played by Frankie Muniz, who hasn’t seen his family in over ten years. When his parents, Hal (Bryan Cranston) and Lois (Jane Kaczmarek), demand he come to their 40th wedding anniversary, things quickly become chaotic.
In the trailer, Muniz playfully claims, “Things are great now that I’ve distanced myself from my family!” However, it’s clear he won’t be able to stay away for good.
The show’s return includes familiar faces like Keeley Karsten as Malcolm’s daughter, along with Chris Kennedy Masterson, Justin Berfield, and Emy Coligado. Caleb Ellsworth-Clark takes on the role of Dewey, and Vaughan Murrae and Kiana Madeira are joining the cast as new characters.

Linwood Boomer, who created the original show, is back as a writer and executive producer for the revival. Joining him as executive producers are Bryan Cranston, Tracy Katsky, Gail Berman, Arnon Milchan, Yariv Milchan, and Natalie Lehmann. Ken Kwapis directed all four episodes and also executive produced, with Jimmy Simons and Laura Delahaye serving as co-executive producers. Disney Branded Television and 20th Television are producing the series.
The popular show “Malcolm in the Middle” originally aired on Fox for seven seasons, from 2000 to 2006, and was loved for its funny, often chaotic, portrayal of family life. Now, fans can finally see what happens as Malcolm navigates the challenges of being an adult, a father, and dealing with ongoing family issues in this exciting new installment.
