Macaulay Culkin has accepted that he’ll always be remembered as Kevin McCallister from the Home Alone movies, and he’s now comfortable with being a pop culture icon. He’s currently on a speaking tour called Nostalgic Night with Macaulay Culkin, where he discusses the 35-year legacy of Home Alone – a film he starred in when he was just ten years old. Interestingly, his two young children, 3-year-old Carson and 4-year-old Dakota, don’t realize that their father is the famous Kevin McCallister, even after he’s shown them the movies multiple times. According to People Magazine, he shared this amusing story:
The kids don’t know I’m Kevin – they’re still very young, only three and four years old. I’m hoping to maintain that little secret for as long as I can. And honestly, I really enjoy watching that movie with them.
Recently, Culkin’s four-year-old son, Dakota, has begun to figure out a big secret: he suspects his dad, Clark, is actually Superman! Culkin shared that he showed Dakota an old photo of all seven of his siblings, and Dakota immediately noticed a resemblance between one of the kids and Kevin McCallister from Home Alone. Culkin hasn’t confirmed this, but Dakota seems convinced. In fact, Dakota sometimes believes he is Kevin, claiming he’s the one who set all the elaborate traps in the movie and caused all the mischief. They even copied one of Kevin’s dances together, which Culkin says is the sweetest thing he’s seen all week.
