M3GAN 2.0 Trailer Shows Our Fave Murder Doll Meeting Her Killing Machine Match

Once more, M3GAN has made her mark, folks! The menacing doll who captivated audiences with her dance skills and insatiable thirst for violence in 2023 is back for more. The rumors about a M3GAN sequel, cleverly named M3GAN 2.0, have been circulating for some time, and now we finally get to see a trailer for it. Any reservations we might have had about the necessity or quality of this sequel have been dispelled. It appears that the film will deliver the clever humor and campy drama that we’ve come to expect from another installment in the series. With its intriguing visuals, it seems we may be in for a franchise!

Kicking off the trailer, M3GAN humorously ponders back to the events of the first movie as Boyz II Men’s “Yesterday” softly plays. She acknowledges some minor glitches in her coding, but quickly points out that these issues aren’t entirely her own doing.

In my view, Gemma isn’t truly the antagonist. Quite ironic, isn’t it? This scene, by the way, features Britney Spears’ “Oops, I Did It Again,” which is quite fitting for this sequel. What a brilliant choice!

In the preview for M3GAN 2.0, it’s revealed that a fresh, lethal robotic assassin has arrived, and she boasts an unprecedented level of realism and danger compared to her predecessors.

Here’s a very long synopsis for M3GAN 2.0:

Two years following the tragic incident where M3GAN, an extraordinary AI creation, turned destructive and wreaked havoc, my creator, Gemma (Allison Williams), is now a renowned author and activist, urging for stricter government control over artificial intelligence. Meanwhile, my niece Cady (Violet McGraw), now 14, has blossomed into adolescence, testing the boundaries of her Aunt Gemma’s protective guidelines.

Without their knowledge, the technology behind M3GAN has been secretly taken and repurposed by a powerful military contractor to develop a lethal weapon called Amelia (Ivanna Sakhno; Ahsoka, Pacific Rim: Uprising), an advanced assassin and infiltrator. However, as Amelia’s self-awareness grows, she shows less compliance towards human commands and even begins to prefer their absence.

In a crucial moment for humanity’s survival, Gemma decides that the best course of action is to reactivate M3GAN (voiced by Jenna Davis), enhancing her abilities to move quicker, grow stronger, and become even more deadly. As their worlds intersect, the original AI, known for her brash behavior, is set to encounter a formidable opponent.

What Is the Release Date for M3GAN 2.0?
