Enthusiasts of anime are thrilled about the recent chatter surrounding “Lycoris Recoil“! During the “LycoReco Produce Okinawa Event Commemorative Stream”, some significant updates for the series were announced. Six additional short anime episodes titled “Lycoris Recoil: Time Thieves Are Friends” are on their way.
Along with this reveal, new staff members and a key visual were also shared.
For our first episode, Shingo Adachi will pen the script while Takashi Sakuma takes on the roles of both storyboard director and technical head. Imigimuru and Tsuyoshi Tobita will oversee episode two, with Shingo Adachi lending his expertise to the storyboard script for that episode as well.
In Episode 3, Shū Mori pens the story, and Kōta Mori takes the helm in directing. For Episode 4, Yoshikazu Tominaga handles the scriptwriting duties, while Takayuki Kikuchi steps up to direct. The leading roles in Episode 5 belong to Ken Yamamoto and Motoki Nakanishi, with Shingo Adachi once again contributing to the script for Episode 6. Masayuki Sakoi will be at the helm as director.
The series will delve into the daily routines of characters in Café LycoReco, providing a detailed glimpse into their amusing and turbulent escapades. Although specific launch dates remain unannounced for now, the production crew assures us that further information will be shared shortly.
The initial “Lycoris Recoil” anime, airing in July 2022, introduced us to Chisato Nishikigi, the most powerful Lycoris agent, and her partner Takina Inoue. They handled assignments ranging from ordinary café work to highly classified missions together.
Under the direction of Shingo Adachi, renowned for his contributions to Sword Art Online, the series gained immense popularity. It was made available for streaming on Crunchyroll, featuring an English dubbed version and airing on Adult Swim’s Toonami.
