Luke Skywalker Coming to STAR WARS Galaxy’s Edge at Disneyland at Last

Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge at Disneyland and Walt Disney World is a dream for any Star Wars enthusiast, but there’s one aspect that has left many fans disappointed: the fixed timeline to the sequel trilogy. We’re not criticizing the sequels here, we enjoy seeing characters like Rey and Kylo Ren in the park. However, fans are yearning for characters from the original and prequel trilogies as well. It appears that our wish might be coming true, as Disney Parks X account hinted at Luke Skywalker making an appearance in Galaxy’s Edge. They teased Luke’s arrival through a social media post. The subsequent post mentioned Season of the Force, a promotion exclusive to Disneyland. So it seems that only Anaheim visitors may get to see Luke, not those in Orlando.

A Jedi… like his father before him

This individual strongly resembles Luke Skywalker as he appeared in his “Return of the Jedi” garb, accompanied by his loyal Astromech R2-D2. Occasionally, you might spot R2 wandering around Galaxy’s Edge, but it should be noted that he plays a significant role throughout the entire Star Wars saga. The Luke we see here seems to be the same character from season two of “The Mandalorian,” when he responded to Grogu’s Force call. It’s true that other characters from non-sequel trilogy films have been seen in Galaxy’s Edge recently, such as Ahsoka, Sabine, Boba Fett, Mando, and Grogu. However, they are typically used to promote a Disney+ series. Characters from the other Star Wars films have, until now, been conspicuously absent.

With Luke’s upcoming appearance, it seems like a major shift is on the horizon. Could this mean we’ll finally get to see Han Solo, Leia Organa, and even Darth Vader himself? Let’s not forget about Obi-Wan Kenobi and Queen Amidala. Since Disney already has these iconic costumes in their inventory, they often bring them out for special event nights like the Star Wars Disneyland After Dark Nite. However, I believe it’s long overdue for Galaxy’s Edge to showcase characters from all eras of the saga. As far as a Phantom Menace-era Anakin standing next to Darth Vader is concerned, we think that’s something best avoided. Here’s hoping Master Skywalker’s arrival in Galaxy’s Edge signals a relaxation of these long-standing rules.
