LOVE HURTS Trailer Forces Ke Huy Quan’s Realtor Back to His Old Hitman Life

As a seasoned gamer and movie buff with a soft spot for action-comedy flicks, I can’t help but get hyped about Ke Huy Quan’s leading role in “Love Hurts”. Having witnessed his mesmerizing performance in “Everything Everywhere All At Once”, I’m eager to see him bring that same magic to a completely different character.

Ke Huy Quan, who won Best Supporting Actor for his role in “Everything Everywhere All At Once,” showcased his ability to portray multiple versions of his character. Now, he’s set to apply these skills for the first time as a leading actor in an upcoming action-comedy called “Love Hurts.” The initial trailer presents a character who is a successful realtor but hides a past secret: he was once a top-tier assassin. However, revisiting his violent past is just one of the challenges he’ll encounter when it comes knocking on his door. To deal with his very angry brother, he must hone his combat skills again.

In the upcoming movie trailer for ‘Love Hurts’, Ke Huy Quan is set to demonstrate his exceptional martial arts skills on-screen rather than off, while leveraging his innate charisma, hilarious delivery, and virtually unparalleled appeal in a role that appears to be an enjoyable adventure.

He’s not the only big name getting in on that fun, either. Here’s the official synopsis from Universal Pictures for Love Hurts to go along with that trailer:

In this story, Marvin Gable, portrayed by himself, is a realtor operating in the suburbs of Milwaukee, where ‘For Sale’ signs flourish like flowers. One day, he receives a menacing letter from Rose (Ariana DeBose), an old partner-in-crime whom he thought was dead. Needless to say, she isn’t pleased with him. This unexpected event throws Marvin back into the brutal world of hitmen filled with treachery and open houses transformed into dangerous battlefields. His brother Knuckles (Daniel Wu), a powerful crime lord, is hot on his trail, forcing Marvin to face the demons from his past and the history he failed to bury completely.

JoJo Eusebio’s first directorial venture, “Love Hurts”, is a feature film that boasts an impressive cast. This includes Marshawn Lynch, best known for his role in “Bottoms”, Mustafa Shakir from “Luke Cage”, Lio Tipton who starred in “Crazy, Stupid, Love.”, Rhys Darby of “Our Flag Means Death”, and André Eriksen from “Violent Night”. Additionally, the film showcases Sean Astin, an actor as endearing as Ke Huy Quan.

The movie is set to be released in cinemas perfectly timed for Valentine’s Day, which is on February 14th. Its premiere date is February 7th. If the trailer is any indication, it’s worth checking out “Love Hurts.
