‘Long Time Coming’: Pete Davidson Reflects On Past Relationships, Says He Doesn’t Want To Be ‘Loser’ Who Just Dates

As a lifestyle expert looking back on Pete Davidson‘s journey, it’s clear that he’s been on quite the rollercoaster ride. From dating some of Hollywood’s elite to battling his mental health, Pete’s life has certainly been a whirlwind.

Pete Davidson, a former Saturday Night Live cast member who sought treatment in rehab, is determined to overhaul his romantic lifestyle following some significant life realizations he’s had while there. The comedian’s abrupt decision to step away from his Peacock show, Bupkis, left many puzzled.

Later on, he explained that his choice was shaped by a significant realization regarding his personal life. In an interview with W Magazine, Davidson confessed that he desired some respite from the spotlight to focus on his own healing process. “I was struck hard by the Hollywood spade,” he said to the publication, adding that it had been overdue and he needed it.

As the actor himself puts it, his previous public life was dominated by who he was romantically involved with at any given moment. Notably, he has had high-profile relationships with numerous A-list celebrities in Hollywood, such as Kaia Gerber, Kim Kardashian, Ariana Grande, Kate Beckinsale, Emily Ratajkowski, Phoebe Dynevor, Madelyn Cline, and several more.

He expressed that he doesn’t want to continue being a person who only dates others, as this isn’t truly reflective of his identity. His relationship with the founder of SKIMS, which garnered much attention from tabloids in 2021, was made public when they walked the red carpet together at the 2022 Met Gala. Their relationship was further highlighted in an episode of Kim’s reality show, The Kardashians.

In 2018, Davidson’s short-lived romance with pop sensation Grande made headlines. More recently, he disclosed that these relationships had a detrimental impact on his mental wellbeing, prompting him to seek improvement. Currently, he expressed contentment in his mental state, stating “I’m very happy where I am right now, mentally.

In March 2023, during an interview on the Real Ones podcast, the actor openly confessed that he experienced feelings of inadequacy and self-doubt when Saturday Night Live began poking fun at his love life.

In his 20s, he’s dated a few folks, but finds it peculiar and not particularly intriguing that this aspect of his life captures people’s attention. He stated this earlier, adding that it feels awkward when people are more curious about his romantic relationships rather than his professional endeavors. Davidson admitted that it’s quite disappointing when fans show greater interest in his dating life compared to his career.
