HIDIVE will be streaming the Loner Life in Another World anime, and they describe the story as:
Haruka and his high school class were transported to a new world as if by magic, accompanied by “God.” This deity granted them the opportunity to pick extraordinary powers, enabling them to become renowned heroes in this fantasy land. However, Haruka unwittingly overlooked the timeframe for selecting these abilities. As a result, he ended up with the unused powers that his classmates had rejected.
Despite appearing weak and overlooked, Haruka relies on his hidden talents to survive comfortably as a solitary figure. However, his classmates will eventually discover that their supposed superior abilities aren’t all they’re cracked up to be. In this moment, Haruka may need to step in using his cleverness, resourcefulness, and the seemingly insignificant powers once dismissed by his peers.
“The Loner Life in Another World” is a web novel authored by Shoji Goji, initially released on Shosetsuka ni Naro in 2016. This work was later published in print by Overlap in 2018, featuring illustrations by Boota. Subsequently, Saku Enokimaru created the illustrations for the first two volumes. A manga adaptation of this story, illustrated by Bibi, is currently being licensed in English by Kaiten Books.
During the 10th Anniversary Memorial Overlap Bunko All-Star Assemble Special event’s second livestream on January 21, 2024, I was thrilled to learn that an anime television series adaptation is in the works! This exciting announcement was made by Hayabusa Film and Passione in collaboration with Frontier Engine.
The plot of Loner Life in Another World
In another world, a deity summoned an entire classroom to be its heroes. Each student was granted a unique ability, but Haruka, a solitary classmate, unintentionally missed the selection process. As a result, Haruck was given all the unused skills that his classmates hadn’t chosen.
In my experience as a lifestyle expert, I’ve come across individuals like Haruka who may not possess a standout skill but manage to live fulfilling lives by making the most of their diverse abilities. However, when I stepped into this other world, I noticed that Haruka led a solitary existence, seemingly content with his unique situation.
