As a gamer who grew up in the ’80s and spent many afternoons at our local McDonald’s, I can’t help but feel a wave of nostalgia watching Sylvie’s adventure in Loki Season Two. The attention to detail in recreating that era’s McDonald’s ambiance is simply outstanding! I must admit, those talking apple pie trees brought back memories I hadn’t thought about in years.
In the second installment of Marvel Studios’ Loki on Disney+, Tom Hiddleston’s character experienced some deeply intense situations. Yet, there were also instances that brought a sense of nostalgic lightheartedness, with none more memorable than Sylvie, portrayed by Sophia Di Martino, leading a straightforward life and working at McDonald’s in 1982 Oklahoma. For people who lived during that era, they’d likely find this remarkably authentic McDonald’s set in Loki quite intriguing. The apple pie trees reminiscent of the marketing strategy used back then, with a creepy-talking appeal, are a notable sight. Compared to today’s minimalist designs, McDonald’s locations from that time were significantly more vibrant and less sterile. Experiencing this nostalgic McDonald’s was one of the delightful aspects of Loki season two for me.
In the second season collection of “Loki,” there are numerous unique extras, such as “Loki Through Time.” This behind-the-scenes segment takes us on a journey spanning over a decade in the MCU timeline with Tom Hiddleston, Kevin Feige, and others. Additionally, you’ll find a humorous outtakes reel, along with two additional deleted or extended scenes.
Starting on December 3, Disney+ series such as Loki Season Two, Hawkeye Season One, Ahsoka Season One, and The Mandalorian Season Three will be available for the initial release on 4K Ultra High Definition Blu-ray format.
