Get ready for sunshine, beaches, and daring rescues! Livvy Dunne, the popular 23-year-old gymnast and social media star, is joining the cast of the new Baywatch series on Fox. She’ll play Grace, a cheerful and energetic young lifeguard. This role is a new direction for Dunne, who’s known for her online presence and athletic skills, as she moves into scripted television.
I’m so excited for the Baywatch revival! It’s going to be packed with stars, with a really cool mix of people joining the lifeguard team. Stephen Amell is taking on the lead role as Hobie Buchannon, which is awesome, and David Chokachi is even coming back as Cody Madison! Plus, they’ve added Shay Mitchell, Jessica Belkin, Hassie Harrison, Thaddeus LaGrone, Brooks Nader, and Noah Beck to the cast.
The story is all about continuing the Buchannon family legacy. Apparently, Hobie – the rebellious kid from the original show – is now a captain, following in his dad Mitch’s footsteps. But things get interesting when his daughter, Charlie, shows up wanting to become a lifeguard and work alongside him. It sounds like a really emotional and action-packed season!
The original series was a hit on television from 1989 to 2001, and this new version hopes to bring back that same exciting feel for a new generation of viewers. Fox plans to launch the show as a key program for the 2026-2027 season, though a specific premiere date hasn’t been announced yet.
Livvy Dunne, a former star gymnast at Louisiana State University, is making the jump to acting, marking another step in her growing career. She’s been working to build her brand beyond college sports, using her influence to support opportunities for student-athletes. This TV role is expected to significantly expand her reach to a wider audience.
Stephen Amell, best known for playing Oliver Queen in the series Arrow, brings a lot of experience with action-packed roles to the show. His involvement is a major draw, as the series will likely feature both exciting stunts and compelling characters. Currently, the production is being closely watched by fans of the original, who want to ensure the reboot stays true to the spirit of the show while updating it for today’s audiences.
As a lifelong fan of the original, I’m really excited about this new take on Baywatch! From what I’ve heard, they’re definitely tapping into that classic lifeguard vibe we all love, but they’re also digging into the family drama surrounding the Buchannons, which sounds really interesting. With such a talented cast and the show’s history, everyone’s already talking about it, and I think it’s going to be the show to watch this year. It’s a big ask to live up to the original’s 11 seasons and its place in pop culture, but the early word is incredibly promising, and honestly, my expectations are high!
