We’ll have to hold off until June 13th for the live-action adaptation of “How to Train Your Dragon”, but a new image from the film has been released. USA Today published this photo (check it out below), which shows Hiccup, played by Mason Thames, and Astrid, played by Nico Parker, preparing for an intense battle.
Once again, Dean DeBlois, who was responsible for penning and directing the initial animated trilogy, will be at the helm for this live-action remake. This new take on the 2010 animated movie features Gerard Butler reprising his role as Stoick the Vast, a character he previously voiced in the original series.

Initially released, “How to Train Your Dragon” proved to be a blockbuster, amassing approximately half a billion dollars worldwide. Subsequently, it spawned two follow-ups in the years 2014 and 2019. Moreover, it garnered significant praise from critics, boasting a remarkable 99% rating on Rotten Tomatoes.
In the upcoming live-action film, Nick Frost takes on the role of Gobber by providing his voice, while Murray McArthur becomes part of the cast. The storyline sticks closely to the original, as Hiccup encounters and forms a bond with a Night Fury, paving the way for his exciting journey on the Isle of Berk.
Recently, Gerard Butler expressed high praise for the movie, describing it as ‘extraordinary.’ He reminisced about the thrill of watching the animated realm unfold before his eyes and voiced his anticipation for others to enjoy this captivating experience.
2024 saw filming happen in Belfast, Northern Ireland, at the start of the year. This marks DreamWorks Animation’s debut into live-action productions, signifying an important step forward for their studio.
