With all those years and countless visitors whizzing through the darkness, it’s safe to say that few, if any, would call this iconic thrill ride “calming”. However, in an unusual twist, Disney is encouraging you to do just that. To celebrate Space Mountain’s Golden Anniversary, they unveiled a Space Mountain Soundscape. This includes ambient sounds from different versions of the ride worldwide, creating a surprisingly tranquil and peaceful listening experience.

In this video, you’ll hear sounds from four different iterations of the Space Mountain ride: Space Mountain at Magic Kingdom, Space Mountain at Disneyland Park, Star Wars Hyperspace Mountain at Disneyland Paris, and Star Wars Hyperspace Mountain at Hong Kong Disneyland. Unfortunately, Tokyo Disneyland’s Space Mountain is absent from this compilation because it doesn’t exist yet; however, they are in the process of constructing an entirely new version of the ride that looks incredible!
2027 is when the extraordinary new edition, boasting “improved performance and captivating special effects,” is set to debut. Anticipation has us counting down the days until we can experience it firsthand. And now, with its enticing promise of a soundtrack that will fill our dreams, I can’t wait to drift off to sleep each night imagining the adventure ahead!
