Lisa Marie Presley Shares Heartwrenching Details About Dad Elvis Presley’s Death In Posthumous Memoir: ‘I’ll Never Get Past That…’

As a lifestyle expert, I find myself deeply moved by Lisa Marie Presley‘s posthumous memoir, From Here to the Great Unknown. The raw emotion and intimate details she shares about her father’s passing and her own life are nothing short of captivating.

As an ardent devotee, I was captivated by the latest memoir penned by Lisa Marie Presley, offering us a personal and intricate account of the fateful day our beloved icon, Elvis Presley, took his final bow. In “From Here to the Great Unknown,” a poignant posthumous memoir, Lisa Marie paid tribute to her father, who bid farewell at Graceland, his sanctuary.

On August 16, 1977, she described her emotions, saying, “I rushed towards him, only to be stopped; someone held me back as they attended to him.

In my own words, I shared that I let out a terrified shriek, as I instinctively sensed something wasn’t right during this significant event. Being only nine years old at the time, I recall my grandfather making a distressing noise in my memoir.

Regarding that sound, his mournful cries are something I can never move past. It reminded me of the words, “He’s gone. He’s gone,” which she recollected after his passing, referring to the music icon who produced timeless hits like Can’t Help Falling in Love.

She continued to explain that August 16 marked a significant turning point, as the music ceased and the life she had known came to an end entirely.

The You’re the Devil in Disguise singer died of drug-related complications at the age of 42.

After 45 years, Lisa Marie passed away in January 2023 at the age of 54 due to a complication related to a bowel blockage. For many years, she had been battling health issues stemming from her bariatric surgery, which eventually led to more serious complications.

Prior to her passing, Lisa Marie often voiced her concern about her father’s mortality, sharing that there were instances where she observed him losing consciousness. This fear was so profound that it inspired her to pen a poem titled “I Hope My Daddy Doesn’t Die”.

In the memoir written about her life that was published after her death, Lisa Marie’s daughter and actress, Riley Keough, fulfilled a promise she made to her mother by completing the work on it prior to her passing.

Speaking to folks, Riley mentioned that her mother had a prominent role due to being Elvis Presley’s daughter. The actress further shared that her intent with her memoir was to reveal the real Lisa Marie to the world, as this aspect of her life had not been discussed previously.

She aspired to create a “multi-faceted individual”: a loving mother, a free-spirited child, a loyal companion, a talented but underestimated artist, honest, humorous, scarred by past traumas, filled with joy, mourning, and embodying all aspects of her extraordinary life.

The heartbreaking memoir From Here to the Great Unknown is available now.
