Lisa Kudrow Discovers Note from Matthew Perry Inside Iconic Friends Prop He Gifted Her: ‘Timing is Everything’

On Tuesday, January 7, Lisa Kudrow made an appearance on The Drew Barrymore Show. During the show, she shared that she had recently found a note from the late Matthew Perry hidden inside a cookie jar, which was a memento he gave her as a farewell gift on the final day of filming Friends.

Matthew handed over that item during the conclusion of our previous encounter, Kudrow recollected. Interestingly, she mentioned that she had recently rediscovered this famous prop and discovered, to her delight, that Perry had hidden a unique keepsake within it for the first time.

Without revealing what the note said, Kudrow expressed, “Timing is Everything.”

To clarify for those unaware, Perry, who sadly passed away at 54, in October 2023, bestowed the prop as a tribute to an iconic Friends moment. In this memorable scene from the early episodes, Kudrow discovered she had forgotten her watch for a scene that necessitated one. To solve the problem, she jokingly called the cookie jar “a clock.

During a 2020 interview with Jimmy Kimmel, Kudrow showed doubt about how Perry could have given her the gift, stating that her immediate question upon receiving it was whether he had obtained permission from the props department first. Kudrow also mentioned that while filming the show, her car was searched every night to prevent intentional or accidental theft of set property.

As a lifestyle expert reflecting on a 2021 interview with People, I’d like to share an interesting tidbit about the Friends ensemble and their keepsakes from the set. During our conversation, Matt LeBlanc admitted to gifting something special to Lisa Kudrow. Intriguingly, Kudrow also confessed to taking Phoebe’s iconic rings and her security badges. Jennifer Aniston chose one of Monica’s dresses as her memento, while Courteney Cox shared her sentiments of regret for not grabbing something for herself.

In another turn of events, Matt LeBlanc placed the I Love Friends license plate accessory onto David Schwimmer’s vehicle. At first, Schwimmer claimed not to recall taking any items, but eventually admitted to bringing a Professor Geller sign from his workplace at the museum back home.
