Lil Nas X Gets Slammed By Sega Bodega For Copying His Single Artwork: ‘There Is No Credit’

As a long-time fan of both Lil Nas X and Sega Bodega, I find myself torn between admiration for their creativity and dismay at this recent controversy surrounding their work. I remember the captivating visuals that accompanied Sega Bodega’s “Angel on My Shoulder” and how it resonated with me, so when I saw Lil Nas X’s promotional images for his upcoming project, I couldn’t help but notice the striking similarities.

Lil Nas X is facing criticism for his similarity in cover art design for his latest single. Sega Bodega expressed concern over a promotional photo of Lil Nas X, suggesting it bears an uncanny resemblance to the artwork for his 2021 song “Angel on My Shoulder.” With excitement building around Lil Nas X’s upcoming project, titled Dreamboy, Bodega took to social media on November 13 to discuss this apparent likeness.

The artist said that it was offensive to put out such a concept without putting a fresh take on it. He slammed the J Christ rapper on X saying, “Not even trying to put a spin on it is where I’m like yeesh.”

As a devoted admirer, I’m here to share an intriguing observation: Two images portray artists, with a vague silhouette behind them, seated before antique-looking computers in a dimly lit wooden chamber. Later on, Lil Nas X acknowledged this striking similarity by sharing Bodega’s artwork on his Instagram Stories, labeling it as a “ref” alongside his own picture. However, some enthusiasts have pointed fingers at the rapper, alleging that he directly stole concept art from Bodega.

When Bodega’s followers pointed out to the artist that they hadn’t given him proper credit, Bodega grew upset. He responded with a tweet that read, “I can’t tell if this is an excellent joke or not because that’s exactly what he did – no credit given.

In response to a user accusing him of ingratitude, Bodega countered by saying that it was actually Lil Nas who failed to credit Aidan Zamiri, the artist, when the bare minimum should have been giving him a shout-out on an Instagram post.

Bodega responded, “He gave you credit in a picture that’ll vanish in 24 hours without any mention of the artist or photographer at all. Show some appreciation for it, you guys are acting crazy!

During this same timeframe, Lil Nas X unveiled a new phase for his album titled Dreamboy. He also shared with fans that his upcoming single, Light Again, will release on November 15. Earlier, he expressed gratitude to his supporters and acknowledged how blessed he felt to have their backing during the struggles he encountered. However, the unacknowledged concept art remains a contentious issue.
