Liam Payne’s Death: New Toxicology Report Reveals Shocking Blood Alcohol Percentage

A recently released report from Prosecutor’s Office No. 14 provides additional details about Liam Payne’s passing. On February 21, they disclosed their findings, which stated that Liam had a potentially lethal blood alcohol level (BAC) of up to 2.7 grams per liter at the time of his unfortunate demise. This is equivalent to being severely intoxicated.

Based on reports from People, the Spanish press release mentions several substances detected in Liam’s system, including cocaine byproducts such as methylecgonine, benzoylecgonine, cocaethylene, and the medication sertraline.

31-year-old Payne passed away on October 16, 2024, at the CasaSur Palermo Hotel in Buenos Aires, Argentina. An autopsy report from November revealed traces of cocaine byproducts such as benzoylecgonine, cocaethylene, methylecgonine, and antidepressant sertraline in his system. According to reports, a blood alcohol content (BAC) level of 0.27% can cause confusion, disorientation, and motor skill impairment.

Extra investigative tools linked Payne’s drug use with Brian Paiz, a suspect accused of peddling narcotics in exchange for money. Previously, Paiz asserted that he didn’t sell the drugs but merely gave them away as gifts. Video evidence from October 14 suggested Payne approaching the hotel reception to request funds, which strengthens claims of a monetary transaction.

In simpler terms, the press statement indicated, as determined by the judges, that the collected evidence demonstrates the burdensome characteristics of the deliveries, thereby validating the order for prosecution made by the previous court.

72 hours before his demise in November, a toxicology test showed the presence of alcohol, cocaine, and prescription antidepressants in Payne’s body. An initial autopsy found that he had sustained multiple injuries and both internal and external bleeding. His death was later determined to be due to severe trauma, confirmed in January.

On February 21st, the charges against three individuals initially accused of manslaughter in connection to the death of Liam Payne – Roger Nores, a friend of his, and hotel staff members Gilda Martin and Esteban Grassi from CasaSur Palermo Hotel – were dropped. Additionally, Paiz and Ezequiel Pereyra, who are also being charged with drug distribution, remain in custody. If found guilty, they could potentially face prison sentences ranging from four to 14 years.
