As a dedicated fan who has followed Liam Payne’s career since One Direction days, I am deeply saddened by the circumstances surrounding his untimely death. The news of his toxicology report and the arrest of three individuals connected to his passing is both heartbreaking and infuriating.
Despite nearly a month having passed since Liam Payne’s demise, it’s clear that the depth of affection his followers held for him endures, as we continue to mourn his loss. Now, I understand that his body, which was in Buenos Aires (where he took his final bow), has been reportedly handed over to his family. This is so they can bring him back home, to the United Kingdom, where he will be laid to rest in his beloved homeland.
According to an anonymous source within the cemetery industry in Buenos Aires, it was reported by Reuters that on Wednesday, November 6, the remains of Payne were transported to the British cemetery in the city as part of the first stage of the repatriation process.
Furthermore, according to People magazine, the National Criminal and Correctional Prosecutor’s Office No.14 announced in a press statement that Payne’s toxicology reports had been completed and communicated to his relatives.
According to a recent press release translation from Spanish, it was found that the deceased singer had detectable amounts of alcohol, cocaine, and prescription antidepressants in his system during the three days leading up to his death.
According to the report from the given publication, this conclusion was drawn following comprehensive toxicology tests on urine, blood, and the fluid inside the eye (vitreous humor).
Previous reports to ABC News suggest that the singer’s initial autopsy results showed multiple substances in his system at the time of his death. One of these substances, often referred to as “pink cocaine,” was detected, but it’s essential to clarify that this term is not strictly cocaine. Instead, it typically denotes a mix of drugs such as ketamine, methamphetamine, and MDMA, according to the National Capital Poison Center. This blend is a recreational drug, although it may not contain pure cocaine.
The press release also stated the arrest of three individuals, charged in Argentina in connection to Payne’s passing. One suspect is reportedly an individual who allegedly “accompanied” the One Direction alum daily during his stay in Buenos Aires.
The second person under suspicion works at the hotel, accused of providing the singer with cocaine. The third one is said to be the drug dealer.
According to the press statement, they disclosed that neither self-inflicted harm nor any actions taken by others physically were considered as causes leading to his demise.
According to a forensic report, it appears that the individual’s demise stemmed from extensive injuries sustained due to a fall, both inside and out, which led to internal and external bleeding.
For those who may not be familiar, the musician known for Strip That Down sadly passed away on October 16, 2024. His death occurred following a tragic fall from a third-story balcony at CasaSur Palermo Hotel in Buenos Aires. At the time of his passing, he was only 31 years old.
