Liam Payne Funeral: Cheryl Cole Arrives At St. Mary’s Church To Pay Last Respects To Her Ex-Boyfriend

As a lifestyle expert with years of experience under my belt, I can empathize deeply with Cheryl Cole at this trying time. Losing a loved one is never easy, especially when that love transcends romantic bonds and extends to the co-parenting of a child. The sight of that flower arrangement, spelling out “daddy,” must have tugged at her heartstrings.

On the day of the funeral, Cheryl Cole made her way to St. Mary’s Church, where she was to pay respects to her former partner, Liam Payne. Their relationship lasted for about two years, from 2015 until 2017, and they have a seven-year-old son together.

At the gathering, the performer was photographed without her child, yet the church’s adornments featured a floral display spelling “dad.

Cole initially crossed paths with the previously known singer during the recording of X Factor UK, where she showcased her talents as a contestant. At that time, Cheryl had joined the panel of judges. Accompanying the Call My Name vocalist were her bandmates Kimberly Walsh and Nicola Roberts.

The musician put on a black coat and high heels, while she carried sunglasses on her head as she strolled among the photographers.

Cole attended the church service alongside Payne’s family members and friends when the casket was brought in for mourning. Earlier, Payne’s 7-year-old mother issued a statement after the musician’s passing, requesting solitude from her followers to cope with the fact that Bear, who will never meet his father now.

During these overwhelming circumstances as I grapple with this heart-wrenching situation, let me politely bring attention to the fact that what we’re dealing with is the loss of a fellow human being.

She continued by saying, ‘Liam wasn’t just a pop star and famous figure; he was a son, a brother, an uncle, a cherished friend, and a dad to our 7-year-old boy. Now, that son is left with the painful truth of never getting to see his father again.’

Payne and Cole have generally shielded their son from public scrutiny, yet this hasn’t deterred the 31-year-old from expressing his appreciation for Cole’s exceptional mothering skills in numerous interviews. In these discussions, the ex-boy band member frequently discusses his early embrace of parenthood.

He revealed, “I was so excited for him to be born that I was actually worried [that] I wouldn’t love him enough.”

Regarding the mother of his child, Payne elaborated, “Our friendship has blossomed even further. We ended our relationship for a specific reason, but now she allows me complete freedom in my life, enabling me to pursue my own path. I’m confident Bear is well taken care of, and honestly, that’s all she cares about – it’s more than I could ask for.

Sadly, Liam, who was a part of One Direction, tragically died at the age of 31 following an accidental fall from his hotel balcony in Buenos Aires. Approximately a month later, he was respectfully buried in London.
