According to a source connected to Liam Payne’s girlfriend, it was following her departure from their vacation in Argentina that Liam Payne exhibited increasingly unpredictable actions. On October 16, the former member of One Direction tragically fell to his death after leaping off a balcony on the third floor at CasaSur Hotel, situated in Buenos Aires.

From the Snapchat videos, it’s clear that he acted differently around her, an insider shared with PEOPLE. Previously, a source close to Cassidy disclosed that she played a significant role in supporting Payne during his legal troubles with ex-fiancée Maya Henry. The source added that she stood by him and provided strong support throughout the court cases.

Initially, the pair were seen together in October 2022. Despite maintaining a low profile with regards to their relationship, Cassidy occasionally provided peeks into it via social media platforms. This included sharing pictures of their infrequent public events and intimate selfies of their personal times together.

 

According to various reports shared with ABC News, it’s been alleged that the artist was found to have several substances in his system, among them being “pink cocaine” – a party drug, typically consisting of methamphetamine, ketamine, and MDMA as recognized by the National Capital Poison Center.

Based on the report, it’s stated that an aluminum pipe, apparently improvised, was found to have been used for drug consumption in Payne’s hotel room. After his unfortunate passing, Buenos Aires authorities discovered his room in a state of disarray. A subsequent investigation by law enforcement revealed various substances in his room such as clonazepam, energy supplements, over-the-counter drugs, and damaged items scattered about.

According to the initial report, Payne died from multiple injuries and bleeding, both internally and externally, due to his fall. The National Criminal and Correctional Prosecutor’s Office told PEOPLE that the 25 injuries found on the deceased singer were consistent with those resulting from a fall from a great height, which could have led to his demise.

Payne is mourned by his 7-year-old son Bear, whom he co-parented with his ex-partner and former Girls Aloud member Cheryl. She expressed her feelings on Instagram about the father of her child, addressing media intrusion while asking for respect for his family and close friends during this difficult time.
