Historically, the Fantasy Life series by Level-5 has only appeared on Nintendo systems. The new game in the series, titled “Fantasy Life i: The Girl Who Steals Time“, was originally slated for the Nintendo Switch. But recent updates hint at a wider distribution.
In February 2023, during a Nintendo Direct broadcast, Level-5 debuted “Fantasy Life i: The Girl Who Steals Time.” This game offers players an immersion in a magical island, where they can take on different roles and restore the community while interacting with a distinct time-travel aspect within the storyline.
Initially set for a release on October 10, 2024, the game encountered delays. In August 2024, Level-5 announced that they were pushing back the launch without a specific new date, expressing regret to impatient fans and promising further information at later stages. Eventually, the game was rescheduled for an April 2025 release.
Lately, it’s been mentioned that a PlayStation Store page for the game popped up momentarily, displaying both PS4 and PS5 versions scheduled for April 23. This listing was taken down swiftly, but its fleeting appearance suggests a possible release on PlayStation. If validated, this would be the first time the series is launched on a platform other than Nintendo.
An online page for the game “FANTASY LIFE i: The Girl Who Steals Time” was posted on the PlayStation Store, but it was taken down shortly afterwards. The listing showed versions for both PS5 and PS4, with a release date scheduled for either April 23rd or 24th (depending on time zones). As of now, the game has only been officially confirmed for a Switch release in April.

At present, it’s unclear if Level-5 has made a decision to bring the game to PlayStation consoles, as they haven’t officially confirmed its release yet. The deletion of the game from the PlayStation Store has fueled rumors, but without an official statement, the platform on which the game will be played remains in question.
Meanwhile, concurrently, the developers at Level-5 are also creating a fresh installment of the Professor Layton series for the Nintendo Switch. The game, titled New World of Steam, is set in America and is planned to be released in 2025, though no specific dates have been announced yet.
Expanding the game “Fantasy Life i: The Girl Who Steals Time” onto PlayStation systems might broaden the game’s reach to more players. At this point, since Level-5 hasn’t given an official confirmation, it’s all just guesswork based on what we currently know.
Currently, we’re all on tenterhooks, waiting for any official news from Level-5 about the launch platforms and timings for the game “The Girl Who Steals Time” in Fantasy Life i. The gaming enthusiasts are brimming with anticipation for more updates regarding this highly anticipated title.
