As a long-time LEGO enthusiast and space exploration fanatic, I couldn’t be more thrilled about LEGO’s immersive SDCC booth this year! Growing up, I was always captivated by the mysteries of the universe and dreamed of being an astronaut. And while I may not have made it to space yet, LEGO has allowed me to explore the vast expanse of my imagination in a way that brings me endless joy.
Space. For those of us on Earth, it’s a place of wonder. Scientists estimate we’ve only explored 4% of the universe so far. And only 646 people out of the billions on Earth have seen space in person—a staggering number. But that doesn’t mean humans aren’t eager to discover new wonders in the cosmos. To unlock the 96% of the universe we haven’t discovered yet, LEGO has committed to highlighting space’s splendor in its new 2024 releases and sets. From letting creators build the Milky Way to bringing children’s spacecraft visions to life (which you can see at the LEGO booth), LEGO has paired the ingenuity and exploratory nature inherent in its offerings with a mission to encourage a love of space in children and beyond. Blasting this partnership to new heights is LEGO’s space-themed booth at SDCC 2024. Please join us for an exclusive walkthrough (or is that “floatthrough”) of LEGO’s cosmically cool creation, Space Station 8R1CK5.

♬ BIG UP – INJI
As a passionate fan, I’m thrilled to share that this year at San Diego Comic-Con, the final frontier is coming closer than ever before! The galaxy far, far away is no longer just a dream as LEGO brings space to life at booth #2829. Instead of just gazing at stars from afar, visitors like us will be invited to Space Station 8R1CK5.
At TopMob, we’re excited to give you an exclusive behind-the-scenes look at LEGO’s San Diego Comic-Con 2024 booth through a special tour and walkthrough of their space installation. We cordially invite all LEGO enthusiasts across the universe to come along with us. We use the term “LEGO enthusiasts across the universe” because LEGO fans exist not only on Earth but also among our astronauts in space, and perhaps even among extraterrestrial beings in undiscovered parts of the cosmos. Yes, you heard it right – we believe aliens are fans of LEGOs too!
LEGO Is Bringing Space to Its 2024 SDCC Booth (#2829)
At San Diego Comic-Con 2024, I’ll be part of the LEGO Group’s exciting space adventure in booth #2829, Space Station 8R1CK5. During this interstellar journey, I’ll get a first peek at new products from beloved LEGO properties and engage in countless interactive elements. The thrill of space exploration merges with the delight of LEGO brick building – it doesn’t get much better than this!
Beth McKenna, the U.S. Marketing Head at LEGO Group, expresses her excitement, “After more than two decades of presenting at San Diego Comic-Con, we aimed to surprise and delight fans once again. We put in a lot of effort to design an innovative experience that caters to all. Space is an infinite source of inspiration and narrative; our goal is to bring that boundless creativity right here to Space Station 8R1CK5.”
Don’t Miss Out on LEGO’s SDCC 2024 Booth Experiences, Immersions, and Panel Signings
At LEGO’s Comic-Con booth in San Diego 2024, named Space Station 8R1CK5, you’ll get to venture through an extensive cosmos. With its sleek, minimalist design, cool blue and white hues, and breathtakingly starry “windows,” this station will make you believe you’ve truly taken off. Furthermore, brimming with intricate brick details and massive LEGO characters, the booth provides a wealth of galactic experiences and engaging adventures.
Some of the activities you’ll find in the solar system of LEGO’s 2024 SDCC booth include:
- An immersive space station experience that features beloved properties, interactive fun, and virtual elements.
- Among other adventures, you can travel to a galaxy far, far away at the LEGO Star Wars™ display, have a close encounter with specimens from different universes with LEGO IP products, or even just watch the time float by from one of the space windows and content screens!
- Space Station 8R1CK5 will feature a build-your-own LEGO rocket experience. In this experience, guests can design and build their own space creation using LEGO bricks. Once complete, guests can set their craft in orbit by placing it in front of a special LED screen backdrop. Your rockets will literally take flight before your eyes.
Certainly, the thrill of space exploration is rewarding on its own. Yet, LEGO aims to provide an additional motivation. For every astronaut-to-be who journeys to Space Station 8R1CK5 and finishes the rocket construction project, LEGO will grant an exclusive embroidered patch as a memento. These patches are only obtainable through this experience at Comic-Con in San Diego. Who wouldn’t be eager to add such unique collectibles to their personal stash?
LEGO Panels and Signings
At San Diego Comic-Con, LEGO has not only an exciting booth but also two enthralling panels and signings for dedicated fans. The first panel is titled “LEGO NINJAGO: Dragons Rising Continues” (Thursday, July 25, 1:00 p.m.-2:00 p.m. PDT in room 6BCF). The second one is named “LEGO Masters: An Insider Look” (Friday, July 26, 4:30 pm-5:30 pm PDT in the same room).
At Comic-Con in SDCC, LEGO’s booth will host signings for two different events. Following the LEGO NINJAGO: Dragons Rising continuation panel, which is scheduled for 1 PM on July 25, there will be a signing session at 3 PM. This signing is specifically for LEGO NINJAGO fans. Before the panel, from 2 PM to 3 PM, there will be another signing opportunity for LEGO Masters: Back Behind the Brick attendees in the same booth.
Where Is LEGO’s Booth (#2829) Located?
At San Diego Comic-Con 2024, LEGO’s booth will be located nearby the Star Wars and Marvel displays, almost in the heart of the Exhibit hall. Specifically, you can visit LEGO at booth number #2829.
A Journey of Discovery: The Beautiful Connection Between LEGO and Space
According to a study conducted by the LEGO Group, an astonishing 86% of children express curiosity about discovering new celestial bodies, such as planets, stars, and galaxies. Moreover, approximately 77% of these kids dream of traveling into space someday. A significant number of them, around 64%, even believe that extraterrestrial beings exist in the vastness of space, and they long to make contact with one. This infectious fascination and enthusiasm for space exploration is what drives us forward to unravel its enigmas. LEGO aims to fuel this passion by offering an engaging experience at their Comic-Con booth, where children can step into a space-themed environment. Here’s hoping that tomorrow, these young explorers will embark on their journey to our next great discovery.
Though not all can journey to outer space in reality, each person can experience the thrill of creation and exploration by handling a LEGO set. LEGO is about transforming minute pieces into something magnificent. Every brick connected signifies a tiny advancement for our LEGO project and a significant leap for our creativity. With LEGO’s space collections, we embark on new cosmic journeys daily.
In the year 2024 so far, LEGO has facilitated a connection with the love for space among kids, adults, and beyond. This bonding occurred through minor events such as introducing new space-themed toy sets in the market, and major milestones like supporting astronauts in designing lunar shelters on the moon. We eagerly anticipate the cosmic marvels that LEGO will imagine next!
