LEGO The Shire Set: Your Ultimate Lord of the Rings Adventure Awaits!

As a diehard fan here, let me share something truly exciting: If there’s one thing you should know about us, it’s our unwavering passion for LEGO, particularly the epic Lord of the Rings LEGO sets! We’ve had an amazing journey constructing the stunning LEGO Rivendell and the awe-inspiring LEGO Barad-dûr. I can’t stress enough how much you should check these out! And today, we’re overjoyed to announce that a new Lord of the Rings LEGO set is joining our beloved collection designed for grown-up builders. Get ready for The Lord of the Rings LEGO Shire, which brings the tale of Bilbo Baggins’ eleventy-first birthday party to life in bricks! What makes these sets truly special is that they retell a genuine story, and we have no doubt that The Shire build will continue this rich legacy.

Here’s what you need to know about LEGO’s The Lord of the Rings: The Shire.

LEGO The Lord of the Rings: The Shire Is Full of Hobbity Goodness

So far, we’ve explored LEGO elves, LEGO orcs, and embarked on numerous adventures with LEGO builds based on “The Lord of the Rings.” However, we haven’t yet completed a round trip to The Shire. LEGO’s latest set showcases another part of Middle-earth, a place where meals are plentiful (and frequent), farming, singing, and a touch of gossip make up daily life. Indeed, the LEGO Shire is just as delightful as we had imagined!

As a movie enthusiast, I’m thrilled to share my thoughts on the latest LEGO release – “The Shire Celebration: Bilbo Baggins’ Eleventy-first Birthday”. This meticulously designed set beautifully encapsulates the lively ambiance of the iconic hobbit party.

Bilbo’s cozy hobbit-hole is authentically recreated, featuring the well-known round green door and a lavishly decorated interior. The interactive elements add an extra layer of fun: Transform a simple burning letter into The One Ring with a quick twist, or make Bilbo disappear mysteriously with a turn of a dial.

The set also offers the opportunity to reenact the dramatic dragon firework scene by swapping out the heads of Merry and Pippin. Other included items are Gandalf’s horse and cart, a variety of fireworks, a firework dragon figure, the Party Tree, a party pavilion, and Bilbo’s book, which can be displayed either open or closed.

Overall, this LEGO set is a must-have for any Lord of the Rings fan, offering a unique blend of detail, interactivity, and nostalgia.

We’re completely smitten with this charming little Hobbit abode, brimming with verdant greenery, trees, blossoming flowers, and not forgetting, essential snacks. We’re equally thrilled about the numerous tales it holds within its walls. Nothing can compare to a construction steeped in storytelling.

How Many Pieces Is LEGO’s The Lord of the Rings: The Shire Set?

The LEGO Shire collection comprises a total of 2017 pieces, making it the smallest among all the LEGO sets based on “The Lord of the Rings.” This is sensible because a) Hobbits are small and unassuming in their lifestyle. They aren’t as elaborate as the elves of Rivendell or the Dark Lord in his fortress, and b) because this set represents an early phase of the story. If you have children or newcomers to the “The Lord of the Rings” universe, a simpler LEGO construction could serve as a gentle introduction, allowing them to gradually immerse themselves into the story (rather than jumping straight into the deep waters of Anduin). It’s indeed pleasing to own a beautiful LEGO “The Lord of the Rings” set that can be assembled more swiftly compared to some other sets.

What LEGO Minifigures Are Included in The Lord of the Rings: The Shire Set?

The Shire set includes nine LEGO characters: Bilbo Baggins, Frodo, Mrs. Proudfoot, Farmer Proudfoot, Merry, Pippin, Rosie Cotton, Samwise Gamgee, and Gandalf the Grey. Essentially, it’s got all the essential figures for a fantastic gathering before mysteriously vanishing and parting ways with everyone you’ve ever known.

We especially love the mischievous, up to no good, faces on Merry and Pippin’s faces.

How Much Does LEGO’s The Lord of the Rings: The Shire Set Cost?

The Shire is quite affordably priced. Specifically, this LEGO set costs $269.99, making it the least expensive of the available LEGO Lord of the Rings sets thus far. As a result, if you’re looking to begin your collection, this could be an excellent starting point.

When Will LEGO’s The Lord of the Rings: The Shire Release?

The LEGO Shire set will release on April 5, 2025. LEGO Insiders can snag the set on April 2.
