Even though it came out forty years ago and a sequel hasn’t been made in over three decades (and likely won’t be), *Back to the Future* remains popular today. The film is full of memorable images, but Doc Brown’s DeLorean time machine is arguably the most iconic. LEGO has released DeLorean sets before, but they were large and pricey, geared towards serious collectors. Now, thanks to *IGN*, we know a smaller, more affordable version is coming next year as part of the *Speed Champions* series. Check out photos of the new 357-piece *Back to the Future* Time Machine LEGO set in the gallery below.

This LEGO set lets you build the iconic *Back to the Future* time machine as either its standard car form – complete with a lightning rod and the “OUTATIME” license plate from the first movie – or as the flying vehicle from *Back to the Future Part II*. You can switch between both modes, each of which includes the flux capacitor and time calculator. The set also features the Mr. Fusion power source and an orange license plate for the flying mode, plus sideways wheels. And of course, it wouldn’t be complete without minifigures of Doc Brown and Marty McFly!
The original LEGO DeLorean Time Machine was a complex build with over 2,000 pieces and a price tag of around $200. LEGO fans have been asking for a more budget-friendly option ever since, and now it’s here! While it can’t actually hit 88 mph or take you to 1950s Hill Valley, this new version has all the iconic details. Don’t forget to put on some Huey Lewis and the News while you build it! You can pre-order the new *Back to the Future* Time Machine LEGO set for just $27.99 by clicking here.
