LEGO BATMAN: LEGACY OF THE DARK KNIGHT Trailer Looks Perfect

The new trailer for “Heroes & Villains” delivers on what was initially teased: we’ll see multiple versions of Batman, his enemies, and Gotham City. The trailer features characters inspired by films like Christopher Nolan’s Dark Knight trilogy, Tim Burton and Joel Schumacher’s movies, The Batman, and even Batman: The Animated Series and the Arkham video games – all with the signature LEGO brand of humor.

Okay, so “Legacy of the Dark Knight” isn’t just Batman – it’s a whole Bat-family affair! You’ll definitely be teaming up with characters like Robin (it seems like Tim Drake is the version they’re going with), Nightwing, and Batgirl, plus the always-intriguing Catwoman. But the villains? They’ve pulled from all the Batman movies! We’re talking the Joker with that Ledger-esque vibe, Mr. Freeze from the Schumacher era, Penguin from Batman Returns, Two-Face from Forever, Bane from The Dark Knight Rises, and even Ra’s al Ghul, looking like he stepped straight out of Batman: The Animated Series – which, let’s be honest, is the best version. They’ve also included characters straight from the comic books, giving you a really diverse roster of heroes and villains.

The official main story synopsis reads as follows:

  • Bruce Wayne’s journey from origin to legend as he trains with The League of Shadows, becomes the hero of Gotham City, and forges a new family of allies with Robin, Nightwing, Batgirl, Jim Gordon, Catwoman, and Talia al Ghul who each bring unique skills and signature gadgets to uncover crimes, complete challenges, and explore an immersive Gotham City full of secrets and surprises.
  • Players will confront an ever-growing threat from across Batman’s Rogues Gallery, facing off against The Joker, The Penguin, Mr. Freeze, Poison Ivy, Ra’s al Ghul, Bane, and more.

You can now pre-order both the standard and deluxe editions of LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC through Steam and the Epic Games Store. The game will be released on May 29, 2026.
