Mummies used to be genuinely frightening, and it’s good to see them returning to their scary roots. After all, what’s more unsettling than a preserved corpse, tightly wrapped in bandages with emptiness inside? The trailer and story summary for Lee Cronin’s The Mummy give us a better idea of what to anticipate.
Following the success of Evil Dead Rise, writer and director Lee Cronin is tackling another classic horror tale with a bold new take: Lee Cronin’s The Mummy.
A journalist’s young daughter vanishes in the desert, and eight years later, her family is stunned when she unexpectedly returns home. However, this supposed happy reunion quickly becomes a terrifying ordeal.
Looks like trouble! It seems Katie is being controlled by an ancient Egyptian enemy, and that won’t end well. Lee Cronin’s The Mummy features Jack Reynor, Laia Costa, May Calamawy, Natalie Grace, and Veronica Falcón. The movie is directed and written by Cronin, with James Wan, Jason Blum, and John Keville producing.
Okay, so the new trailer for Lee Cronin’s The Mummy is short on actual footage of the actors doing anything, but honestly, it’s enough! It totally nails that intense horror atmosphere. That final shot? Seriously creepy – it’s going to stick with me all day. And the chanting… I can’t get enough! It’s this weirdly terrifying but also hypnotic sound, which is a fantastic combo. I’m already expecting amazing performances when we get more trailers – I loved May Calamawy in Moon Knight and I’m excited to see what she brings to this!
When Will Lee Cronin’s The Mummy Release In Theaters?
